Smurfing
Hey, I tried to make a support ticket, but I was referred here to the boards.
I have been playing a lot of ranked games recently around low platinum / high gold Elo, and I have been running into a lot more smurfs this last season. People who are around level 30, have barely played their champion, never been ranked in another season and they carry the entire game alone. Some games have entire teams like this, and it is extremely irritating to have to play against people who are a lot better to be able rank up. Playing against better players is indeed a good way to learn, but when the enemy player gets 30 kills and kills you in 0.1 sec there is not much you can do and its very tempting to just leave the game. I completely understand that people want to try and improve on champions they don’t normally play while not losing their rank, and still get the feeling of progression that ranked gameplay provides. That is why I think Riot should make a system where a player can tell Riot that the account, they are using is a smurf, so that they do not have to feel bad about destroying low Elo players ranks when practicing their new champs. Also checking if there are multiple accounts on one E-mail and then placing the lower ranked ones in the smurf queue, people really should not be sharing their email with anyone else anyway so there is a very high possibility that more accounts on one email means that the player has smurf accounts. If someone wanted to make a smurf account they don’t want in smurf queue they would need to make a new email just to create the account and not be able to instantly just change the E-mail back to their original email, something that could discourage many players from making a smurf like this. The best way to implement this is to connect the smurf accounts to the main account, so that if the player is behaving in a toxic way on the smurf: trolling, intentionally feeding or harassing other players, their main account could also be punished. To get players to connect their accounts a good way would be to give a reward to the players that connect their accounts, something like an extra rune page.
TL;DR: Playing against smurfs is not fun, please find a way to let people smurf without breaking the ranked system. If anyone else has any good ideas, please comment below
