As the title implies, why are we not able to gift with IP? I know it's so Riot can make some money off of it, but maybe make the champions cost more IP if you wanted to gift them? It'd be better for newer players, as friends could gift them champions easier.
ValyrianBlade1 votesWould love this but you've nailed it: money.
Mostly because riot would fear players would 'sell' their ip gifting champs for cheaper than the rp to buy the champion, meaning riot gets less and people make money unfairly off of the game (and it would motivate ip farming bots like we already see recently).
Ulric Greatsword1 votesOne word: Botters. If you don't know what I'm talking about, go play a couple rounds of PVP Dominion or ARAM. There are automated bots running amok and farming IP day and night on the NA server.

people gifting to themselves with the 100k ip they have. (i'm not exaggerating, i watched some diamond/plat streamer where they had over 100k ip and every champion)
botters
NoMonku1 votesBotters. You think they are a problem now, well it will add just another thing they can get on board with.
