Is the ranking system fair?
Is the ranking system really fair? Before you think "Oh he's salty because he is low elo", here me out. It is a question I have thought of ever since my starting League around season 1 or 2. With that being said, I wanted to know if it is fair right now, not the past. So, I took to the bronze elo with a friend to find out! Now before we get into that I just wanted to let you guys know I am not salty about my rank. I am currently in gold 2, and I have peaked at platinum 3 (near high elo). I personally believe I am definitely a gold player, and that I should work harder to get back to platinum. Although, just because the system works for me, doesn't mean it works for the majority.
What happened? I found out it is ridiculously difficult to climb in lower elos. The rate of trolling/inting or people dcing + threatening to DC in ranked matches is INSANE. It took me about 20 games even playing hyper carries to go from bronze 4 to bronze 3. I know for a fact it is not my skill levels. I'd tend to believe it has more to do with the 5 super fed enemies regardless of my personal strength.
Overall it goes without saying that the rank system isn't necessarily "fair", only the extremely dedicated manage to move up and truly find their rank. Now that doesn't mean it is riots fault whatsoever. If anything it has more to do with the rapidly growing and toxic community in League of Legends at the moment. I urge those of you who do use malicious practices in ranked games to consider your team mates (the ones who aren't being a chode). After all, the mute buttons were created for a reason. Let's prevent arguing that only hinders the game and focus on the task at hand, winning and proving everyone wrong.
I want to know everyone else's opinion on the subject, and maybe even some solutions. Drop a comment below and let's have a discussion :)
