Should Yasuos wind wall block Vel'kozs void rift?

While playing Vel'koz today I couldn't help but wonder (and get annoyed) by the fact yasuo can block my w. Vel'kozs W opens a rift on the ground. Yasuos wind wall blocks projectiles. Yasuo can't block cataclysm on J4 or Poppys q so why can he block an event that happens to the ground. Ground effects shouldn't count as projectiles. Plz riot this isn't right.

He can block Braum ult, and the affects the ground too.

Velkoz's W is a projectile so it gets blocked. Jarvan's ult and Poppy's Q are not projectiles so they do not get blocked

Projectile = moves smoothly from point A to point B with travel time.

That's the rough definition used in this game.
