How do you progress in ranked when if you win or not depends on how good your teammates are. i have lost countless games were i was doing great but because my team lost i lost. i just don't get how ranked pushes skilled players up and bad ones down. Any insight would be great thanks :)

Well the fact that you are in bronze 5 means two things.

  1. Your teammates are not going to be good.

  2. You should be able to carry hard enough to win games regardless of teammates skills more times than not. That is why only a handful of the ranked population is in bronze 5. You think your the only one who has bad teammates and that's the only reason you cant rank up?

To rank up: You are going to have to accept the fact you have a lot of learning to do. You have to focus on you and only you as to what you could have done to help win a game when you lose and why you win when you win. Figure out what lanes you are good at and like, get a couple champs, lookup some guides.

Play to win, play to improve. Acknowledgethat low elo is a lot different than challenger and the streams you watch. Its Team death match time. Get in there, get some kills, push objectives, ignore assholes, and try to do whatever you can to win. Your fed and your still losing? Stop getting caught in late game situations? There are a lot of reasons you are losing besides getting bad teammates I'll tell you right now. I have not looked at your stats or watched any replays, but I can guarantee that.

I suck at this game and I could jump into bronze 5 and carry myself back to silver in a fairy short period of time. Bad teammates and all.

Hope this helps. Just trying to be honest.

There are better sources but I use lolking.net for some guides on champions I play. Also to look at stats. IGN Smalltomahawker lets do some chatting.

Yeah, I get that bronze can be tough. We were all there at some point. Just keep in mind that if a game was lost, there was always a way that you could have changed the outcome of the game. In every ranked game there is only one consistent factor, You. Thinking about the game that just happened -- especially if it was a loss, and thinking about what you could have done better to help win the game will really help in the long run when it comes to winning ranked games with "bad" team mates. Don't be afraid to give them direction either by typing in chat or pinging. Just try to keep it calm to avoid rage. And stick to pinging if your having a bad game, people are more likely to listen to pings than chat

Remember the opposing team consists of similarly bad players in theory, so every skill match up should be basically 50:50 on which side happens to be better. The exception is you provided you belong in a higher tier/division, so you should consistently be able to outplay your opposing laner.

As such instead of only winning 50% of matches (which would be the case if every match up was perfectly fair and 50:50 chance), your win rate should in the longer run be >50%, and so you'll climb. Depending on just how much higher than your current division/tier your actual skill level is would determine how much more than 50% you win (a diamond level player is going to have an easier time carrying bronze than a silver for example), but in the long run everyone will slowly inch towards where they belong, so just keep at it.

(Even if you are where you 'belong' currently, the more you play, the better you'll get, so where you 'belong' will inch upwards at the same time.)
