Platinum Toxicity?

Hey everyone!

Long time ranked player, currently at Platinum V. Something that has been bugging me is the behavior I have been seeing among my teammates in ranked. So I came here to pose this question:

To all other players near my rank (high gold/low plat) - have you noticed an exponential increase in toxic behavior over the past few months? I have been absolutely appalled lately with what I have been seeing in my ranked games.

In nearly every ranked game I play, 2-3 of my teammates will be so rude to everyone else on the team. They over-exaggerate, rage, place unwarranted blame, and will harshly criticize other teammates over the slightest mistake during play. All it takes is one person to start mouthing off in the chat - and the madness begins.

I play a fair amount of LoL (5+ games per day) and I have for awhile. Earlier this year/last season I did not notice anywhere near this level of toxicity in this elo range. It just sucks, I find myself not wanting to play because I don't want to be a part of the raging onslaught that is sure to ensue. Its truly disgusting.

I realize that this is part of online gaming, I realize that there are mute buttons for a reason, and I realize that sometimes people are just having a bad day. But it has gotten so bad lately that I have to ask if others in this elo have noticed a spike in toxic behavior as well.
