Better to do placement matches 2 weeks after season start?

Is there a possibility that you can get placed higher if you finish your placement matches a couple weeks after the season start?

Let's say Player A and Player B have the same MMR and go 5-5 in their provisionals. If Player B does his placements 2 weeks after the start of season rather than right away, is there a higher chance he gets placed in a slightly higher division?

Not sure, but I always wait a week until the Plat+ have probably placed so that I can actually affect my placements more than rnjesus can.

It's always better to wait to do placements.

Because x rating could be attached to a higher rank two weeks later.

Unless the system was changed since past seasons the people who do placements in the first week get the full hit of the MMR shift where higher MMR is a lower rank due to literally everybody getting kicked out of diamond, masters and challenger.

I would at least wait for challenger to get filled up before doing placements since part of the MMR shift will be gone by that point
