Bard Changes

I love Bard. A lot of people don't because they think hes weak and trolly and useless as even a support. And honestly, they're kind of right. His passive makes him wander too much, his E is never enough to save anyone, and more often then not hurts your team's situation more than it helps. His ult is slow and hard to land in time, and the scaling on his Q is kinda low. But my major point is that his biggest downfall is that he is only even close to viable as a support. So, why not make him a jungler? (Come on most of us have tried it, don't lie.) I'm clearly no pro, but I did some brainstorming on how he could be adjusted to help him jungle and actually be useful.

So for Bard's Q, as I stated, has only a 65% AP ratio. That's not a lot considering how low his base AP is and he's not getting anything too boost it heavily in his normal builds. I'd round that out to 70 or 75%. But that's not everything, as the most obnoxious part of Bard's Q is the hitbox cause it's almost omnipresent. A nice change to make it either A) Shorter and wider or B) Longer but more narrow.

His W is pretty solid as it is, and could probably do without a change but for a nice buff, a smaller heal but add a small mana regen, or, for a more out-of-left-field approach, temporary ward capabilities. This would help him be a better roaming support and/or jungler.

Bard's E was the one that I thought the hardest about, because I personally believe is his most influential skill as it is. As it is, Bard's E makes a tunnel that speeds allies passing through. This is all fine and dandy, except as it is, unless it's maxed, it's a pretty measly escape. It might save one or two folks from a teamfight, but more often than not it isn't practical enough to change anything. I'll concede that it can be used as a fantastic bait tool, but everyone is aware of that sort of trick. Personally, I'd either have the portal heal allies coming out of it for just a tiny amount, or give them a movespeed boost, or give them additional defensive stats for a few seconds, or maybe even damage enemies passing through it, although that doesn't really fit the character. Nothing crazy, just something to make this skill seem less like a road trip and more like something you can use to help your team.

Finally, Bard's ultimate. Currently, it Zhonya's people inside of it. It's a way to help your team escape, to help you escape, to help chase enemies, etc. It's great if your Bard can land it, but that's quite difficult as the thing has a 1-2 second delay at max range, and about a .7 second delay at point blank. This one has a lot of potential, and the most interesting one I think would to have it affect cooldowns of those hit. Such as refreshing them for your allies, or resetting them for your enemies. The most practical, though, would just to make it global. Maybe it would be OP, cause everything in this game is according to everyone ever, but it could be balanced by having a longer cooldown than it does right now.

That's about everything. It's not great, but I feel bad cause Bard has a lot of potential but gets way more hate than I think he has too. It's nothing fantastic, I know, but just some ideas I had for helping the guy out. Bard

Bard could use two changes

  1. lower mana cost on W
  2. Projectiles following Bard miss if Bard enters his E
