Today a split juice on my keyboard while playng katarina. I tried to wipe the juice off my keyboard with a cloth and prevent juice from hitting the floor as well. When i looked up, "Quadra Kill "...

Well the Assassins that can't do all of their damage in 1-2 seconds are honestly balanced by design: Yasuo Zed

The ones that just instantly drop people or just completely fall off are wonkier: Kassadin Talon Akali Fizz KatarinaPantheon

I didn't think Kass could 100-0 people anymore after his nerf/rework/whatever you want to call it.

Kingsgrave1 votes

He is still effortless to play though. Instead of giving him a real kit they just nerfed his damages and upped his mana costs.

Direwolfiez1 votes

All I know is that he stopped being FotM and >90% ban rate in ranked, and my normals stopped having a Kass in every match. Haven't played him ever, so I'll have to take your word on it.

kass got gutted left and right after some time and some nerfs he will rise again (less op) probably in diferent lane and with diferent role

Panth is more of a bruiser than assassin. Takes about two seconds for him to assassinate someone. Q,W,E,Q. Takes a couple seconds lol. The rest of them really have to poke or trade you down before they can assassinate. Their kits might be a bit toxic, but that's about it.

Knight SoIaire 1 votes

pant is an early game assasin who falls off late game
early he can drop ppl quite easy

Their kits might be a bit toxic

not a little riot does not gut them hard yet but the meta is always hungry for assasins so one by one riot will wreck them all cause lcs will start picking them lb goes lcs- removing the silence lcs found a new assasin who does what lb was doing just not that safely- talons silence removed basicaly anything that goes big in lcs is getting hammered fast, and assasins are vital to this game because they are a natural counter to carries (thou they could use some work to counter the carries while having some trade of for this, atm they kill the carry and either get resets like kata or just use their still realy potent skills to aid their team like zed talon and lb)

Panth plays like an early game assassin (Hence why he has the tag as his secondary.) But if you want to stay relevant through the late game, you need some tank as well, why I say he's more of a bruiser, though he is still a bit on the assassin side.

Actually, tanks, mages and bruisers can all work effectively against an ADC if played right, it's a matter of how it's done. Assassins simply do it the fastest and easiest. Assassins are a tricky class to balance due to how they work. They are highly mobile and deal high levels of damage. The problem comes when you start adding characteristics of other classes in. Mage like CC (Kass and LB) or fighter CC and dps (Talon) or even support style utility (Nidalee). Sadly without mixing things up, assassins simply start looking like different flavors of the same boring thing. But balancing them isn't as easy as people might think. You want an assassin to be able to do their job (assassinate certain champions in certain situations) though you don't want them to become dominant to the point that they push out all opposition. (Hence why we've seen so many assassin nerfs this season.)

He stops becoming an Assassin because his base damages are awful, he has entirely Bonus AD ratios, has no real multipliers and has no escapes so he has to build Tanky in order to even be remotely relevant.

Actually the bases on his Q,E, and R are pretty dang good. Though situational. (Q is best when target is low health, exceptionally good when you have IE. E requires you hit all three ticks of damage. Ult just has to hit.) He simply lacks the mobility and full combo ability that most assassins have. His ult is almost never a part of his damaging combo. And simply put, he exemplifies the ideal that CC can shut down an assassin, hit him with any CC during his E and you take out his big damage.
Panth assassin can work, I've done it a few times, but he simply functions better as a bruiser. My favorite build when I can pull it off it IE into merc treads into BC into Randuins into Hydra into Banshee's.

yup its just like lee sin who transitions from full rambo killer to a "support or something"

Kuroi861 votes

High mobility/utility bruiser. o.0

Knight SoIaire 1 votes

ballancing them is not easy yes, and they are so important part of the game that lcs will prolly force riot to "gut them" instead of ballancing (we already had an akali in lcs who wrecked without even farming, if stuff like that gets actualy popular and i think it will as far as adc is important, riot will be forced to act faster than their ballance team can aka gut everything, when they will finish mages with good burst will take assasins place )

Kuroi861 votes

Zed has been seeing pro play for how long and he's not been gutted?

Assassins can be balanced, it simply takes time, it also shifts with the meta.

Kassadin can't generally drop people instantly unless he's massively far ahead. His entire kit has pretty low base damages, and a combined AP ratio of only 2 (for perspective, LeBlanc is sitting on 3.7, on top of having higher base damages). He's very much reliant on getting off multiple spell cycles and using his W passive to match other assassins, these days - that's why Dade, one of the best Kassadins in the world, runs scaling CDR blues over AP or APPL.

Man your opponents must have really sucked. Let me guess, Bronze V?

Der Lindwurm2 votes

They must have all been so low on health and bunched together that you got them with sinister steel, since death lotus can only kill up to 3 champions at once and it would've gotten interrupted by any other keys you pressed while you were wiping your keyboard anyway. The rest of your team was totally boss if they were able to wreak that much havoc on the other team and corral them that well!

if only an ad assassin could do that. sigh remember when ad and ap were equal? no i dont either.

I remember when Talon could burst as fast as most AP nukers. I hated those days.

He still can and with the right build has the largest amount of burst in the shortest time.

You should keep hating today o_0

Kass has lower bases and lower scaling than other assassins

What you build has literally no effect on this

That's how math works

Just because you feel 2 is bigger than 3 doesnt mean it is

Wait but the person I was responding to was talking about Talon

well considering ADs also get tower pushing ability, I can understand why they arent.

Knight SoIaire 1 votes

no they dont ap is added to the amound of dmg you deal to towers and inhibs (basic knowledge, otherwise ap's would be unable to even scratch that tower)

Narasimha3 votes

Only around 40% or so though, AD is still more efficient.

Knight SoIaire 1 votes

did you ever had 700ad ? because i had over 1k ap meaning free 400 dmg on turret hit

they push slower but only slightly the actualy fast pushers are usualy the fighters who can empower theiir autos vs tower like xin or vi

Narasimha1 votes

Yeah, 400 free damage with base AS. What, 1 attack every 1.5 seconds? Now compare that with champions with empowered AAs or who built AS, who usually do around 200-300 a second. Which one do you think knocks it down faster?

if only an ad assassin could do that. sigh remember when ad and ap were equal? no i dont either.

AD assassins, by the nature of being AD, have better auto attacks than AP assassins. An AP assassin, with their skills on cooldown, deals next to no damage with their auto attacks. An AD assassin, with their skills on cooldown, deal a significant amount of damage with their auto attacks.

I don't think anyone can doubt that this is taken into account when a champion is being ballanced. Yes, flinging a bunch of spells in rapidfire and bursting someone down is flashy, but auto attacks can be just as dangerous (see Fed ADCs).

Knight SoIaire 1 votes

and thats the reason why ap assasins like kat have no cooldonws, those like fizz and kass have empowered autos, lb has her insane safety, akali has both sustain and the atack empowering

you cant compare it so bluntly because riot thinks about those weaknesses before they release a champion

SouL1ess1 votes

if only an ad assassin could do that. sigh remember when ad and ap were equal? no i dont either.

But the only reason assassins can get multikills is either reset or low CD rotation, and the only AD assassin with that model is Kha'zix. Other AD(or AP, really) assassins are more like killing one target in order to put his team in an advantage to win the teamfight.

Malzahar Am i bursty enough to join the assassin club?

Kingsgrave1 votes

Burst mages have a different burst pattern and usually have no mobility. Thats honestly what differs something like Xerath from something like LB.
