A new players perspective: Damage is WAY too high

This is genuinely not fun. I played hots from the alpha in ~2014 up until the early 2018 patch which ruined the game. I played dota back in like 2012. I played Smite.

In all those games, ability usage means something. In order to kill someone, you have to wall them off, body block them, or be generally strategic. You cannot kill people in a single rotation.

League is a different story. You just jump in and start getting kills. There's so much damage going out that engaging something at half health is a one shot.

Health needs to be doubled at a minimum.

This isn't strategic. This doesn't require skill. You cannot look me in the eye and said this game would have taken off if it was released in its current state.

And you came to the boards.

You poor soul. This is where reason goes to die.

Try taking double defense runes. You still do roughly the same damage to your opponent, while being a tankier.

Also, people dont buy defense in this game, hence why you see everyone does so much damage.

Defense items don't do enough. All they do is maybe let you take a few more auto attacks.

Well, perhaps defense runes don't do much later in the game, but in the early game they're pretty significant.

Also, defense has been buffed this season, albeit situationally. If you're team has the mountain dragon, you're going to be a bit tankier.

Also, Conqueror's true damage as been removed, and its healing instead increased.

Now I don't mean to sound rude, but perhaps everything feels one shottable since you are new. Perhaps you do lose a lot of games, and the enemy has snowballed to the point where you just kinda insta die.

Defense items are really good early game, but they tend to fall off late game when carries have Last whisper/ void staff deal with your resistances.

new to league doesn't mean new to the genre

I feel like my damage is too high whenever i step in and gank someone

Damage is absurdly high in this game compared to every other game in the genre. This isn't skillful or strategic. This is just press one button and get kills.

You can't get deleted in this game because the default state is being deleted

Ok... this line of thinking makes no sense. Go and play the other games then? Whether you are new to a genre or a game is pretty pointless and irrelevant. Every single game in existence is balanced differently. You cannot come to any game of any one genre and expect it to play the same or behave the same as any other game from that same genre.

Dota for instance has a much higher emphasis on the items rather than the champions themselves. Champions compliment the items. In league there is more of an emphasis on champion abilities and items are there to compliment the champions. These are two completely and different ways to approach balance.

Sorry to say this but unless you fed a champion to stupid lvls no champion in the game isn't going to "delete" you unless they were made to actually do so (aka assassins)

Because those other games are dead and league is the only moba left that everyone is saying is awful right now.

The amount of damage that champions do by default is so incredibly high, the fact that you can just jump behind someone and either bring them down to 10% hp or dead is absurd, there's no skill involved. Its just ganking.

I feel awful whenever I gank anyone.

So... what you are telling me is that you want to complain for the sake of complaining? Go and play the other MOBAs. Dota is not dead, smite is around so is heroes and I'm pretty certain that there are more around. You coming here to complain about a game you don't like when there are others available IN THE SAME GENRE is hilarious. You keep saying "damage is high" yet I don't see it. Unless you fed someone then yes, damage is high. "No skill involved" and what is this so called skill you are talking about? Skill isn't this one dimensional thing. "No skill involved" I can say there is also no skill involved in farming to 50 minutes and letting a single fight dictate the entire game. Skill isn't this binary term you think it is.

Hots is the other extreme where it feels like everyone is a tank and is a bunch of wet noodles fighting. It's far too boring and makes Laning and the first part of the game feel pointless
