Groan worthy champions are the OP ones
Forget stats and numbers. Lets talk about real world experiences.
You know, intuitively based on your hundreds and thousands of matches, which champions are inherently stronger and work better overall.
Riot looks at numbers and declares that champs like this are in an okay state:

I mean, Panth is hardly played, but you get my point: You never see champions like these and think "gee this will be easy"
It doesn't matter if there is counter play, or if you know how to win against them. You aren't always going to be the one laning and they could get fed off your teammates. So please don't bother me with that simplistic, idiotic argument.
I wish we could all just cut the crap and be honest. There are a handful of champions that are simply better and in most matches up do better. I honestly don't give a good god damn what numbers say--those are complicated statistics with a billion variables and nuances.
There is a handful of OP and or broken champs in League and Riot doesn't want to do anything about it. Look how long it took them to fix broken OP tank Ekko. And they probably only did that because he was a new champion so they wouldnt risk upsetting too many people in the way they would if they nerfed Yasuo.
