People Being Dishonest In Reporting

It bugs me that when people lose games they get tilted and report you for literally nothing. One player admittedly falsely accused me and reported me for hate speech just because he lost. This is what he said. (He also claimed he told other members to report me for the same thing.) [In the post-game Chat, was calling our players "F_cking Homo's" an d"Godd_mn F_ggots" over and over again.] Now I know I don't have any proof of me not doing this.. But it happens to probably a lot of people. I don't know if this can ruin account status' or any of the sort. But my whole purpose of this is I'm wandering, does Riot actually check logs of chat for this? Or do they just believe the player (or in this case a few of the team members) and that's it? Is there a specific process when it comes to reading players' reports? Anyone know?

Yes, logs are checked for offending behavior before you get punished for it. You can read a little bit about how reports work here; http://na.leagueoflegends.com/en/news/game-updates/player-behavior/reports-how-do-they-work

Basically, false reports don't hurt you. They will even lose weight in their future reports for doing it.

False reports won't get you punished. The system checks the games that are flagged once you get enough reported games to ding the system. It does check if said reports are valid and if nothing is found no punishment is given.

Plus the people that made the false reports get their report weight lowered. Not sure if it gets lowered for just one instance or if you have to falsely report a couple of times, but it gets them eventually.

Added bonus: Calling for reports is considered harassment and is punishable. So you can just report them for that and move on.
