Keyori, SoloRenektononly, Dunky and many pro players have quit League for other games lately, with Overwatch being the game with the highest new adoption rate. Many other streamers/Youtubers have also expressed their concerns and frustrations with League Of Legends in it's current state.

Queue times are stupidly long, quality of games has gone down, ranked integrity is non existent and premades rein supreme. There's also a good chance you won't get either of the roles you queued for. Now it seems that Korea (The Esports capital of the world) is now putting League as number 2. Nothing lasts forever, especially when you take the people that made you're company something for granted.

I quite League because Riot removed Dominion.

"But nobody plays Dominion!"

Well I did.

Are you playing Overwatch now (if you ever check this website again)? I was thinking about you. You were a really great member of this community. Just wondering what you're up to.

Have you ever watched Twitch?

A new game comes out, view rates for all other games plummet, and everyone is focused on that game. A few weeks later, said game is somewhere down the list, no where near where it was.

Overwatch is a great game, don't get me wrong, but any statistics claiming it's completely destroyed League are simply premature. Your stats come from Internet Cafes, where people are paying (presumably by the hour) to play games. New game hype + well made game + short game times + appel to people who like multiple genres is naturally going to leed to high play rates for a while.

Overwatch won't be a flash in the pan, but your banking way too much on initial hype.

This has nothing to do with Twitch. This is strictly a post showing that League is losing stake in the Korean internet cafe market. No other game has been able to do this to League. I am showing legit and real stats on what is happening to League in Korea at the moment. Besides, League numbers have been down on Twitch. I never said League would be "Destroyed" by Overwatch, but it is very clear that Overwatch is definitely taking a chunk out of leagues player base as well as earning it's spot within the mainstream.

Tell that to HoTS. At best it was like #10 on Twitch lol

I played it a lot during beta and launch. Made it to rank 7 even. Doesnt change the fact that most other people hated it

or people hate it because it is a poorly designed moba that puts too much emphasis on snowballing the game, and the lack of gold, animation cancelling, and distinct ways to prove youre better than someone makes it hard to climb/carry. its like dq, anyone can be boosted to plat, hots is as much luck of how good your teammates are as individual skill, if not more

Snowballing the game wtf are you talking about. All on what yoursaying is that you don't like it because heroes requires teamwork more so then league.

because the xp system is flawed, and its much easier for higher leveled teams to win out of sheer power, rather than skill, and the fact that xp is based a lot on what you can take off the map, and a lead allows you more of the map, which gives you more xp, which furthers your lead, and so on and so forth. comebacks are far and few between, and the game is seriously flawed, which is why it isnt successful

Snowballing is waaaaaayyyyyyyyyy less of a problem in HotS than LoL

khorney1 votes

no shyt but the guy above this states more or less that heroes is a much more teamwork oriented game that's why he doesn't like it and what snowballing

Overwatch made a huge ripple, but now stands the test agaisnt its own hype, the game as it is right now has no longevity (I'm aware they're promising ranked and much more content, but it's just promises right now), end in either case. It's very normal for a game's population to have a huge spike upon release and then calm down, many people will want to play League after they've had a fill of Overwatch and so on.

There's no reason to marry yourself to either game.

Overwatch currently boasts the largest share of players at Korean internet cafes (PC bangs), according to Gametrics. The website, which tracks and charts what people are playing at more than 4,000 of the country's PC bangs, lists Overwatch as the game of choice for more than 30 percent of cafe patrons, besting League of Legends' 27.8 percent share.

A developmental trajectory of imposition of will, which eventually degrades to its surrogate prayer of expressions of inferiority, can be counted on to produce the desire for a captive audience who have no interest in the material on offer, and the resultant discovery that populations don't answer to individuals.

What do you mean by "Korea answers"? This is just gamespot being incredibly slow to report a statistic we've known for weeks now.

Korea (at the moment) prefers Overwatch in PC cafe's over League. Everyone asks "Is Overwatch killing League?". While I think the death of League will be a very long and overdrawn one, these stats show that the gaming landscape in Korea is definitely changing.

here dq makes que longer becuase it lets people to refuse to supp and seeing no one lieks to supp is why. que fill then come talk nhow long que times are....... not my issue you dont want to so stop compl

I honestly think Overwatch is more fun and less frustrating than League. However I'm trying not to ruin it for myself by overplaying it. That being said I don't like that youtubers are going to overwatch because I like league content more.

I rather not include Dunkey in this. His toxicity which got his 14 days suspended was his own fault.
