What spells can apply on towers?
Many attack/abilities/spells don't affect towers, like Kennen W passive and such, but some do, like Nasus Q. However, Zoe's W, the missiles work on towers. What's the rule behind this?

Generally, enhanced AA attacks can effect towers while other abilities cannot. This is NOT a hard rule though, as some specific abilities are blocked to limit a champions tower taking power if it is already strong. Yorick's Q for example is an enhanced AA, but since Yorick can already great minions to attack tower and each towers so easy, his Q is specifically not allowed to hit towers.
So, it varies by ability and by champion, as the ability to target towers is taken into consideration when they are balancing the ability.
