How is Yasuo considered "balanced" in Riot's eyes?

Ever since my infantile beginnings in League of Lengends I have always, and i mean ALWAYS, seen Yasuo Yasuo as significantly stronger than any other champion in the game. Even if he is way behind on gold, all he needs is a knock up from an ally and he can ult every minute or so. All a team needs is one or two front lines to have a knock up and BANG! Execution every fight, wind man style. Even when I've seen the assassin go bot lane to replace the enemy team's adc, it doesn't matter that he is squishy and should be out-ranged by a meta bot-lane. He can dodge, block projectiles (including Braum's Braum ultimate), and close gaps at faster rates than almost any other champ. I have tried every form of cc to counter the wrath that is a skilled Yasuo player.

Passive - The idea of slight damage negation brought about by moving around is fine. In fact I think it's great. It complements his play style and adds to the feeling of playing a fast-paced swordsman. Also isn't too impactful in fights considering the rest of his kit.

Q - I think it is fair that his crits do less damage than any other champion. I really like how this ability feels and I'm fine with the CD and cast speed being reduced by attack speed considering he is an auto-attacker and this is considered an auto-attack.

W - Another fun and extremely unique ability for our wind buddy. I do find the fact that his wind wall can block infinite projectiles and auto-attacks is somewhat absurd. Maybe an implementation of the wall being able to take a finite amount of damage or number of attacks would allow counterplay. One may argue that all you have to do is wait until his windwall is down, but many players will not fight without it. Not to mention the fact that it only takes a Yasuo a couple of seconds to kill almost any champion in the game, so waiting isn't really an option.

E - Super fun skill to use as Yasuo. Lets you fly through minion waves to catch up to any fleeing opponent (and there are always many of those), cs with ease, and thankfully cannot be spammed on the same champion. Once again, another cool ability that gives Yasuo a relatively unique ability, but perhaps if he had charges that he had to save up or build up somehow that were FINITE then he wouldn't be so incredible at CSing AND dodging skillshots AND chasing people AND being impossible to stick to AND closing gaps AND getting to the back line. This would force him to conserve and expend his dashes wisely. That way if he did go all in on a chase through a minion wave to kill someone, he wouldn't be able to instantly fly back through a minion wave in order to escape the enemy team from trying to punish him for his blood lust.

R - Everyone's favorite. Provides fair damage I suppose, but kind of not so fair whenever the Yasuo's team is built around him so it takes no skill whatsoever to press R whenever a squishy carry is knocked up. That would be fine if he couldn't also throw in every other enemy in the game, so long as they all get knocked up. It is definitely not that difficult to have your team see you will play Yasuo, pick one of the many champs with a considerable knock up aoe, and commence shredding the entire enemy team every fight so long as the Yasuo is competent enough to press R whenever the enemies are knocked up. Not really sure what to do besides increase CDR and/or make it single target? Like i have said, I like his kit, and don't want a full rework. Some tweeks just need to be done I believe in order to see to it that just because there is a Janna/Alistar/Zyra/Cho Gath/Jarvan/etc. on the Yasuo's team doesn't mean they get a free We win every traditional teamfight this game :3.__

@Riot and @AnyoneWhoCares - if you could explain some ideas, plans, elaborations or even disagreements with what I have suggested, that would be great. I don't like feeling all alone in the Rift without anyone watching my back against the Lone Wanderer.

I honestly consider him relatively weak.

  • He has no safe waveclear
  • He has no poke, having to enter melee range for the entirety of his damage
  • He has no unconditional CC or mobility for safety
  • He loses a great many match-ups with little effort on his opponents part (primarily, fighters and tanks but also many mages)
  • He has to play aggressively to win many match-ups but doing so exposes him to ganks (and due to his lack of escape, his low durability and his need to snowball, intelligent junglers will be waiting for an opportunity to collect their free kill

Due to a combination of the above, he isn't very useful when he falls behind and doesn't have anything aside from his ultimate to fall back on. He pretty much needs to snowball to stay relevant in many match-ups (whether that is through fantastic CS or through kills) and he's quite easy to kill when he tries to do so.

Honestly, due to the above and the type of players Yasuo can attract, I really dislike having him on my team and I am willing to ban him if that means I don't have to deal with him.

On the other hand, I love having him on the enemy team since it is an easy way for me to get fed when jungling or top lane and the players tend to tilt pretty easily.

Yasuo is honestly one of the most worthless champs in the game that I hate having on my team. Even in plat the Yasuo "mains" are still garbage and are outclassed by anyone playing a Mage. This champion is fine where he is, and doesn't need nerfs.

and all you need is a jungler and suddenly he's a bag of gold

Well... If u do bad in early then u have hard mid game where u have to catch up to be strong enough to beat anybody. If u do well on mid early then probably u will rekt rest of the game. If enemy team play good against Yasuo... by that I mean jungler will gank/camp mid lane and later on the game enemies will focus Yasuo or at least shut him down with some cc then u r screwed.

I never have a problem fighting him. He's easy to beat with the champions I play. I have fun playing him though, and I used to think he was some OP P.O.S. that was disgusting and needed nerfs. Yasuo is actually in a weaker spot compared to other champions and midlaners right now, I think a damage buff wouldn't be completely unwarranted. I recently started playing with him and he is loads of fun, especially amazing in teamfights and at duelling. If anything, Yasuo is in a fine spot where he is right now and the only thing I would be happy with changing is the fact that a basic ability (Q,W,E) can block an ultimate ability and so much damage. It is a unique ability however I don't think it warrants that much damage reduction and the ability to nullify any projectile in the game (or any amount of projectiles.)

I don't main Yasuo, but I know how to fight him and after playing him so much, he is pretty balanced.
