Azir?

I recently bought Azir, because I enjoyed playing him in the free rotation a while ago. I would really like to play him correctly, but each time I try to, I end up getting a x/x/y score, or a score where im feeding quite a bit. The main problem is the laning phase, were I really have trouble not to get killed when there's a gank and my opponent going all-in.

What can I do about 'surviving' the laning phase, and maybe even picking up a few kills there? I know I have to practise a lot, because well, Azir is Azir, but i'd love to hear some tips so I can work on playing him.

I mained Azir nearly the whole of this season and to date, I have the most mastery points on him at 600+ K so I'd like to think I know a thing or two about him.

Azir has very little kill pressure for a mage so don't expect to go into lane and get a lot of kills like you would as Syndra or Cassiopeia. I got most of my kills in lane by running ignite. The most important thing you have to learn as an Azir player is that he is quite possible the worst duelist in the game. What this means is that unlike other champs, you should at all costs, avoid straying into dark areas with him because if you run into anyone, you're dead. Just dead. In the early and mid game, you are not winning any 1v1s. Azir is a team fighting champ. He excels at team fighting so you want to try to be at every team fight and every skirmish to add your insane damage.

Another very important thing with him is to learn how to drift and perform the Shuriman Shuffle. Look up Drift King Azir on YouTube, he'll show you every thing to do with drifting and shuffling. These skills are a must if you want to perform well with him and all good Azirs know how to do these things.

A very important laning skill for him is to use your Sand Soldiers to zone more than to harass.

It is so tempting to throw your soldiers at your enemy and try to chunk them down, but they are not all that effective until you have some items. Instead, keep your soldiers near your enemy's max range from low minions to prevent them from easily getting the last hit without taking damage. This will help you to gain a gold advantage and win lane.

Tbh unlike a lot of Azir players, I rarely use my soldiers to push a lane until I'm around level 6 and have enough mana for the WEQ escape.

hes trash tier. don't play him. pretty much a troll pick. he will not be buffed at all am guessing because every time he does it becomes a problem. they have said that they will give him a rework. just not anytime soon am guessing next year

Jayce Syndra Nidalee Ezreal because then he'd warp the meta while all these others are 100% fine with being 100% pick or ban status by Riot.

Aside from being a hard champion he's been gutted you really can't hope to play him well, even azir mains struggle sometimes

To survive laneing phase learn how to farm with soldiers from max distance, staying out of reach from your opponents range. And ALWAYS keep moving between attacks. That is one mistake I see with Azir players, they just stand and attack with their soldiers and that makes them easy targets for skill shots, so between each attack ALWAYS move. Also take summoner 21 and of course summoner 4 . will help you a lot to survive a burst attack or even save you from summoner 14 when you would other wise would have died. And try saving a soldier to shuffle to incase you get in trouble.

Since Azir nerf it is a lot more important to farm early game so you can get your items. so I would advise you to forget about getting kills early, cause it most likely wont happen, and just really focus on farming because an Azir with gold is an Azir with items, and an Azir with items is a very dangerous Azir. I normally go item 1056 , item 3115 , item 3116 , item 3020 , item 3165 , item 3089 , item 3135 , in that order the exception being when to get boots, get the boot when you need it.
