Rek'Sai : Unburrow Auto Attack Inconsistency

Even before this patch, Rek'Sai has always able to trigger the unburrow by right clicking on a target, knocking up everyone in the area. However this counts as an auto-attack and means that you can't immediately attack when you unburrow. This was never really a problem though because you could simply reactivate the W instead to knock up everyone above you, and immediately attack.

Now that She only knocks up the centre target when reactivating W, you have no choice to but to right click on your target in order to knock up someone who is at the edge of the range (assuming there is more than one target above you, for example a minion wave). However since clicking on the target offers no benefit, and is essentially mandatory now (especially annoying when relying on Rek'Sais limited view distance), I don't believe that unburrowing with right click should restart your auto-attack timer. It would be very intuitive for Her to immediately auto attack the target, since I just clicked on them.

I will admit that the difference in timing is very slight, but Rek'Sai has an auto attack reset with her Q, and this inconsistency disrupts the natural flow of her attack pattern after unburrowing, and getting it wrong will make you miss an auto attack that you would otherwise be able to reset. Sometimes there won't be a delay (if they were the only target around, and you pressed W), sometimes there will be, say if you were ganking and there were minions, forcing you to click on the target.

I can't imagine that this was intended, as it's effect is so small, but none the less irritating to accommodate for as a long time Rek'Sai player, with muscle memory for the unburrow.

In the gif, the first target is clicked on, the second is knocked up with W. You can see the difference in timing clearly.

Good post. IMO Rek's new tunnel mechanic feels really clunky IMO, and I can't count how many times I've had it target minions when I mean't to hit a champ. It should have some kind of priority for champions and large monsters that are above it. Also I don't know if this is implemented in the game, but she should definitely be ghosted when in burrowed form.

Great post and great find, Riot should really look into this.
