I'll first say: You are justified to feel that Yi is too strong. I understand where you are coming from and it's completely reasonable place.
I don't know if you will accept this, and I have a feeling you may not... but Yi is not actually overpowered. Master Yi is a melee carry and certain groups of people have been vocal about him being overpowered. There's reasons for this.
The first is that Master Yi is an excessively inexpensive champion at only 450IP so consequently there is little barrier to play and he can be found far more often in low player-level games than the other champions. The second is that Master Yi is champion who has great capability to take advantage of the mistakes in play (such as poor positioning) that are the kind/extent made by low level players. A player who has overstayed on low-health away from the tower won't be able to run away from him since he has a move-speed granting ultimate, for example. This means that a Master Yi player can take advantage and get easy take-downs, providing him with gold for his expensive build that he needs to do damage, and when he then has those items he can utilize them well to do a lot of damage because he is a carry and defeat enemies. There is also the additional issue that low level games take longer, players do not know how to push advantages, take effective action, and do not how to use the strengths of early game champions. It leads to games dragging out and scaling carry-type champions being unusually stronger than they normally are. These justifiably leads players in low level games, like Level 7, to believe he is overpowered. This is especially so because Master Yi's is a champion whose impact on the course of the game is far more visible i.e. through getting awarded kill-credit, over other champions whose contributions or flat-out carrying of a game may not be as easily discerned.
For the rest of the players, it's not like that. If we want to look at this by numbers, even with that item, Guinsoo's, that is contended as being OP, the amount games Master Yi is even in and has a team that wins is only a few percent higher. Even with Gunisoo's, Yi wins only a couple percent more than mere chance! It's not unexpected because Master Yi still has the same drawbacks he has always had and further, his very poor transitional strength hurts him now more than ever due to the speed and structure that League of Legends has now.
thts bs I was a fed jax and a yi was 0/5 I was 1v1ing him non stop and winning until he got sated and built rageblade from then on he smashed me every time I split pushed so u are just trying to state he is not broken then explain me this
dont sejuani
because of an item
dont do the same mistake rito
He can kill everyone if you don't have a peel champ. Just get a peel champ and don't feed him it's easy by just playing safe. xD
but if he ults and comes from behind even if hes not fed he will get the backline no prob
Yasuo tends to lose to other melee carries since they have higher DPS at similar items. Yasuo has higher utility, but it doesn't work against most melee carries (i.e.
).
He always has since his release.
Had it too not too long ago, was with yasuo something like 15/2 and yi was 0/1 and he oneshotted me like crazy.
No point posting common sense here , no one in this community has any. They will either say "Yi is easy to counter" which he isn't unless you have a whole team of champ that can cs.. or they will say something stupid like don't let him get fed as if you have control over your team mates.
