Here's why tanks are trash

It's quite damn hard to reach lvl 18 in a game as Mundo, or as any tank, anyway, because games are over way too easily, and tanks are way too useless in early game as it is, but ignoring that, let's continue: Tests ran on training mode dummy, has 100 magic resist and 100 armor, not exactly impossible to attain, you could easily expect either of these on any champion, probably not at lvl 1, but still Level 1 Mundo autoattacking: 31 damage per second (I have full attack speed quints, marks, and glyphs for this, also have Undying Breath, and masteries as well) Level 1 Mundo spamming Masochism on cd: around 45-50 damage per second Level 1 Burning Agony: 21 damage per second (It costs 10 hp per second) Level 5 Burning Agony: 52 damage per second (It costs 30 hp per second, you can't reduce that cost, you can't offset it, you're literally losing 900 hp after 30 seconds of using it, Riot decided it would be great to reduce the amount of health that tanks can obtain, too!) Level 18 Mundo autoattacking: 81-82 damage per second (Same setup as lvl 1) Level 18 Mundo spamming lvl 5 Masochism on cd: 151-153 damage per second Level 1 Cinderhulk/Sunfire: 7 damage per second Level 18 Cinderhulk/Sunfire: 15 damage per second Level 18 Cinderhulk/Sunfire on 0 resistance minions: 87 damage per second So here's what you're intended to do: Don't build cinderhulk, because it's a garbage item, instead, try to aim for a build with titanic hydra, and just keep the red smite for most of the game, then either get rid of it, or upgrade it to bloodrazor when you feel you're tanky enough

lvl 18 late game when every one is 6 items in is where tanks fall off the hardest

tanks are ideal midgame into late game... after every one is full build is where they are their weakest

Mundo isn't really a tank considering he has no real CC or decent initiation.

Burning agony + sunfire deals enough constant AoE damage that he's hard to ignore, similar to Singed. You should have enough regen through Spirit that you can leave Burning Agony on all day, if not grab Warmogs.

Cinderhulk is pretty weak, which is why it's getting changed next patch I think.

If you look at your post game stats, odds are you're doing very little AD with Mundo, so I'm not sure why you're concerned with Hydra or Bloodrazer to be honest.
