Definitely more than enough to run the game smooth!

@Hiroglifiq is incorrect. league is a cpu based game, the graphics card won't prevent you from running the game. You'll get a good 60-120 FPS on medium settings.

I used to have a laptop similar/worse than that. 500gb storage, 4gb RAM, really horrible nvidia graphics card, i still maintained a fair enough fps. You may not be able to play games like overwatch, but league will 100% run.

Question, how is he gonna get 120FPS? I have a computer with better specs than him and I can't go past 60FPS, even if I drop it down to the lowest settings.

lmao refund it then. its not hard to get 100fps on a game like league with a quad-core and 8gb ram. you probably have an old pentium or something

My computer can run league plenty fine. My question is how to make it go past 60 FPS. I thought that it was capped out because of the screen refresh rate was only 60hz, which most general laptops have. If not, then I was simply asking if there is something that I need to do in League settings to increase FPS. I see you're from OCE, so I'm guessing you just don't understand English too well since my question was very obvious. Obviously it's not a GPU issue if I run 60 FPS on highest graphics and still 60 FPS on the lowest you hurr durr.

Sorry, I didn't see it as a question, rather a statement. I apologise. Before I answer a question, I just wanted to point out that OCE consists of mostly australians, which is indeed, an English Speaking Country :)

Can you provide me with a list of components of your laptop? Try exiting out of any programs running whilst you're playing league, as they can effect your fps drastically (skype, steam, even google). What CPU and GPU are you using?

It has a NVIDIA GeForce GT 840m 2GB graphic card I5 4th gen 2.50GHz 8GB RAM, 1TB HDD

Nothing special, but it gets the job done. My thinking is that if it were something with the computer specs, I wouldn't be still getting 60FPS on the highest settings like I do on the lowest. I was always under the impression that I would max out at 60FPS since my laptop's screen only had a refresh rate of 60Hz (which most laptops do), which is why I was asking how you thought this fella would be getting over 100 without knowing his refresh rate (which is most likely 60), and if there were a way to improve it.

Did he specify his refresh rate? I didn't see. I just assumed its a tad bit more. Make sure eco mode is turned off and try plugging it in when you play. He may not be able to get to 100fps (my mistake) but the game will run smoothly on medium-low settings.

No, he didn't specify his refresh rate. That's why I assumed it was 60 like the vast majority of laptops, especially with the specs he listed.

Will it run? Yes. But you're going to need to lower your settings. Having a underpowered processor really isn't good, even if it happens to be quad core. You might as well try to run a custom game and see what FPS you get since the game is free anyway.

When you're running league, make sure to keep it plugged in. It'll give you a good boost, because most laptops throttle speeds to conserve battery life when they aren't plugged in.

Also get ethereal because wifi is very unrealible sonetimes

You'll be able to play the game perfectly fine. The only thing is you might have to play on lower settings. As someone else said, make sure you play with the laptop plugged in and turn OFF battery saving mode/eco mode. I was getting horrible FPS for awhile until I realized I was in some kind of eco mode.

I want to say my college laptop was an I3 with 4GB ram and it ran League at 60 FPS on low graphics.

Can you link the computer or a price of it? You may be able to shop around for something better haha.

not if you want it to play without issues.

your laptop uses a graphics chip and the processor is below minimum so it will stutter and hang up while you play. if you want to play league at the maximum potential settings you need to get a desktop or a laptop with a specially designed graphics card.

your laptops specs are on par with a 2010 desktop from a general goods store. generally speaking if youre wanting something that runs games you should go with a desk top. it's cheaper and you dont have to deal with the whole issue that laptops have if you buy one that cant run what you want it to run.

the processor needs to run at around 2.4 ghz if you're getting a laptop.

memory and monitor are irrelevant as pretty much anything that has a graphics card that's decently new can run league of legends.

a pc for $600 can run league. a laptop that runs league well will cost you $1400

and dont buy into the whole "gaming laptop" "gaming pc" non-sense. those are gimmick builds that for the most part are terrible.

if you look at your own post you can see that several of the things you've posted are below minimum required levels. namely processor and graphics. your monitor size will be too small and dimensions will be weird. memory though your laptop is great, but like i said memory isnt important.
