To everyone complaining about GP's barrels...
- Ranged champions defuses them like nothing
- Melee champs with aa resets (I.E. Nasus, Garen) fuck barrels badly during laning phase due to the fact they can swiftly defuse a barrel with 2 HP (for dumb people: aa -> swift aa reset skill -> barrel defused)
- Don't be an asshole and keep an eye in the bushes for hidden barrels
- The CD of GP's E is quite long (18 sec at rank 1), which raises to dramatically long if you take into account that his 2-barrels-combo needs 36 seconds and his 3-barrels-combo takes 54 seconds to be ready again.
- Gp won't max E in lane, so the barrels recharge time won't vary much.
- Keep an eye on GP level and barrels used since in early game he cannot store more than 2/3 barrels at time and it's easier to defuse them
- Learn the the timing to defuse a barrel in the early game. Without autoattacks, it takes 4 seconds for a barrel to be detonable. In 4 seconds you can even cook a steak.
- If you and your team ignore GP's barrels at the borders of a teamfight or start a teamfight in an already set powderhouse, you're gonna regret it. And you deserved that.

The nerfs on pbe are TOTALLY BULLSHIT, GP will lose an astonishing amount of damage FORMERLY during his midgame powerspike AND lategame by overnerfing an ability which is easily counterable if you are not totally dumb.
The barrels minigame is pretty balanced ONLY IF you know how to play it. If Riot wants to balance things around the fact that people are lazy and don't want to learn how to outplay or counter a champion, well this is not the game I started to play long time ago.
EDIT: What you seems to don't understand is that if you make mistakes in the so-called "barrel minigame", you have to be punished (eat the damage). If you succeed you shall be rewarded (bonus gold, time-window due to barrels CD, negation of zone control).
By downvoting this, what you are asking for is "If I lose the minigame, I shall receive punishment, but just a little". So much little it won't count anymore. But you still want the same reward.
Gangplank barrels have introduced a new extremely interesting mechanic in League of Legends, so does the new Fiora's passive based on positioning and the juggernaut reworks. Obiviously, there's risk and there's reward in the barrel game. If as in teamfights as in lane you want to ignore the minigame and thus the barrels, it's your fault.
