the game was only shortly into it and illaoi took down three champs with only using her ult and reg atk I find this messed up that she just has to increase her atk just a little and can pawn any tank or champ there is with little to no effort it makes any moron that uses illaoi a god. she has way to much hp and def for a champ that can summon 4 tentacles at once and hit you 5 times in the chance you get one out. ganking her is impossible, if any champ that is squishy they die so fast you might get half hp then she does that shield skill and raises to completely full hp bar. I use darius and I had 270 phy def and yet she was eating away at my hp like it was nothing.

HER BIGGEST COUNTER IS LITERALLY RUNNING AWAY.

SHE DOESNT HAVE A SHIELD SKILL SHE JUST HAS TONS OF HP REGEN PER TENTACLE SMACK WHICH CAN BE AVOIDED BY RUNNING AWAY

EDIT:This is coming from someone who used to main her. She's strong.. HELLA strong and Her skill floor is hella low so it's not hard to pick her up, but she literally has nothing to catch you and fuck your face unless you let her walk up to you and you face tank her W and tentacles.

The ONLY counterplay to Illaoi is to run away. That, in my book, makes her broken. And kiting isn't really viable for most top laners...unless you pick after the other team has an Illaoi, what can you do but try not to feed?

Run away/CC/Poke/dodging. She is the classic slow and lumbering miniboss. She hits like a truck but moves as slow as molasses. She's easy to predict, she has Large indicators of her abilities. She goes to slap you? Sidestep and punish her, her main damage is tentacles. Don't be aggressive towards a illaoi in lane. Freeze lane near your tower so she's vulnerable to ganks. She fucks most top landers but only if you are aggressive leave her to the midlane/adc

Come team fights save some form of cc for her ultimate. Expect her to wipe your entire team if you group up and she gets a five man ult+soul

You have to play around her and just pay attention to her it's obvious. You grouped up? Here comes ult. She walks up? She's gonna E. If you're squishy and illaoi is close enough to W you.. You messed up somewhere.

Those are all valid points, but they all revolve around the same basic principle - using CC to run away, poke so you can run away (and poke isn't available on all champs). But none of them are truly counterplay. They're just variations on running away and hoping you don't get smashed with 3 tentacles at once.

You're right it does suck running away which isn't pretty fair. But Riot themed her as a teacher. Lesson? Don't get shit on by Illaoi tentacles. It's not really very healthy. But it's not as bad as OP and a few others keep crying about. It's not a "pick Illaoi and win" it's "Pick Illaoi and win against people who will cry instead of dodging slow(not counting her ult, you have to leave the area for that one) linear skill shots"

I think that's pretty accurate. She's broken AF, and I have no idea why she was buffed. She shouldn't have the ability to one shot an entire team...that's just straight up BS. There is no counterplay to that unless you have a Taric or you're playing as Kayle - you simply have to get out of the way.

Be prepared for down votes from Illaoi players.

Why would it take a team of idiots? Are they idiots for teamfighting? Idiots for trying to take an objective? Illaoi can show up or be present for any number of events where an entire team is within range of her ult.

And Illaoi typically gets pretty fed because she's OP and can damn near one shot any top laner at level 6. So yeah, she's OP AF.

Gee, maybe if she ults, you can just... back off? Instead of fighting in the middle of her tentacle pit?
