So, top lane champs to play?

So, I mainly play Nasus when I play top, any ideas about going with Singed and Garen as well? I used to have really good results with Garen (though that was when Renekton and Riven were almost always played top). I did win recently as him against other guys like Fiora, Mundo, and some others. I have played a bit of Singed in some bots recently and he seems kinda crazy. So, any thoughts, ideas, input about going with Nasus, Singed, and Garen?

PS- One other champion I was thinking of is Shen, but I am not sure about him either.

Shen's fun. One of my favorites as I like stalling, but his goals are almost completely different than most other top laners. You don't necessarily win lane unless the opponent makes some big mistakes, but you can usually manage not to lose lane as well if you do it right. Mainly you look for ways to help your team when you reach level 6 and split push on team fights if your ult is up so you can warp in at crucial moments, but he's hard to play once you get into the current meta. Can't speak much on Singed or Garen.

You'll be more susceptible to ganks early on with this guy, but he's absolutely unforgiving when the person you're laning against makes mistakes. Also, a true damage ult that resets when it kills.

Yeah, This is pretty accurate. There are tons of top laners to really play, but Darius is easily one of the strongest and most fun out there. Between his counters and how easy it is to be kited, makes him a hard choice to play. If you can get through laning phase, you'll be free to destroy them.

From the top of my head, irelia/maokai/lulu/mundo/nidalee/rumble/ryze are really good atm. Personally I play a lot of Darius/shyvana/renekton/trundle/jayce. There are so many top lanes that are really good, so it's really up to you to buckle down, pick a few and get decent with them. Like know their pro/con and abuse them. Since you like nasus a lot, and play garen, you should play them even more, or pick up champs like darius/jayce/ryze/renekton (or ap ranged in general like teemo/lulu) because they're really good at both of those match ups (nasus/garen I mean) and knowing your counters is really important to being better at the champion you want to play.

Shen and Singed aren't really played much in this season, since they're pretty dependent at either farming the entire time or farming the entire time. not saying that's bad, but it's definitely not good. Shen mostly sits top, farms, ults, and teleports back top. He splits a lot and is more of a utility player than being damage to the team. Singed is the same way, but he NEEDS the farm because his early game is horrible. It's similar to nasus, but nasus at least spikes up mid game. If a singed is behind early game, he'll probably not make it to mid game. Late game, however, is where he shines so much. Most of the time (as singed/shen/nasus/ or even garen) you're untouchable late game. Definitely keep playing these guys, they're hella worth it, but learn a few other "meta" champs so you can know what to expect from other players.
