Why do i play with people ranked MUCH higher than me 99% of the time?

Is it possible for your normal MMR to be a lot higher than my ranked? Around August i started using NA.OP.GG more often to watch my replays and see my mistakes, and i noticed why my games were alot tougher. I was constantly paired with high gold to low plat players, and i still am. Check my NaOpGg or Lolking or whatever for proof. Am I better than I think, or is this just a mistake on Riots fault?

OP.GG also has a tool that estimates your MMR based on your ranked matches, it also tells you if your MMR is higher or lower than the average for your league. I noticed the same thing happening a while ago.

Your mmr must be much higher, when i was in silver i noticed that i was going against high plats and diamond5s (i went from bronze2placement to silver1 in about 2 days without any losses). When my winrate died down around plat3ish i started going against people of the exact same elo.

Another important thing to remember, is that lots of people with high ranked MMR don't play a lot of normals, so their normal MMR hasn't had time to catch up to where their "true" mmr is.

Each queue has its own mmr.

Edit: I don't know if this is true or not, but I heard that diamonds actually have the lowest average winrate in normals because they tend to take it not seriously, so their normal mmr is lower than their true mmr usually if this is true.

Everyone I play against seems to be more skilled than I am, yet nobody on my team is anywhere close. #HardKnockLife

Yes.

Also relevant: your high ranked opponents may have low normal MMR.

Normal MMR is separate from Ranked MMR.
