Ranked Matchmaking: Riot created elo hell

I am currently ranked silver 5. Ive been silver since provisionals, unable to climb further than silver 3. I am currently 300-317 and on a 3 game losing streak for the 30th time. RIots ranked matchmaking pairs me with players that are unskilled, players that cant play the position they pick, preferred or not. I rarely feed, I often find myself supporting hard or carrying as best I can.

Above is a description of the kind of player I am, in my opinion. So can anyone explain why Im stuck in silver 5 when worse players than me are in gold and low plat? Can someone explain why Im being forced to suffer through the endless waves of unskilled players, the trolls and the afks?

I am far from an expert at this game, but I understand your frustration, so I thought I would offer a few thoughts that you may or may not find helpful.

(1) You have great win rates with Brand, Blitz, and Mundo. You have a decent win rate over a lot of games with Lux. You play a lot of different champions, however, and your overall win rate with champions you only play a handful of times is bringing down your overall win rate more than you may realize. Just because you end a game with a good KDA on a champion doesn't mean you couldn't have played better if you were more familiar with the champion.

(2) You don't seem to buy that many wards. Buy wards. Lots of wards.

(3) Your CS averages seem low. Obviously, it can be advantageous to roam sometimes, but minions are free gold just sitting there, so if you are going to forego free gold to roam, try to make sure to secure an objective if your roam is successful.

To be honest, one of the reasons I'm responding is that some of your frustration seems to echo my own in the past. I was very good at playing conservatively and getting solid KDAs. I think I wasn't so good at playing aggressively and taking advantage of any skill differential to get kills/objectives. I think I still have a lot to learn / work on, but I've tried to focus on playing a role/champ that I think allows me to utilize my skill set to impact the game. None of this may be applicable to you, but that's the approach I'm trying to utilize to better myself.
