How to bring Mordekaiser back

Hey! I'm a relatively new League player, and one of the first champions i really found interesting was MORDEKAISER . I bought him, and tried playing him in all the possible roles: top, jungle, even mid, adc and support (yep, support). However, it just felt that something was missing, in each of these roles. I mean... as a jungler his farm is ok-ish but he got no gap closers and no hard cc. As a top lane he isnt really that durable, he doesnt have cc, his W passive is wasted and you need to TP bot in order to get that dragon ghost. And i wont mention the problems he has in the other roles (they are kind of obvious )

There are games where Mordekaiser literally stomps everyone, just ramp that Q to 3rd hit and GG. Other games, he is literally dragging the team down. We can all agree he is kind of an odd-ball right now, and he just doesnt seem to fit in. He doesnt have a set role, or a specific place to play him in Summoner's Rift( He isnt a juggernaut, he doesnt have the stats. He doesnt have the mobility or gap closers of a bruiser, NO CC). Not to mention, in a way he is very easy to predict, he's a LINEAR champion, and he doesnt impact teamfights as he needs to ramp up his Q dmg, but by that time, he probably got kited to death.

I'm not saying completely rework Mordekaiser. Just add more FLAVOUR to the champion a bit.

Many people talk about her W passive being useless, and needing rework, or upping the dmg of the Q; however, i will try a different approach. Let's talk about Mord's ultimate, and more specifically, the DRAGON FORCE.

Look at Shyvana. Her passive is related to dragons too, and she recently got it reworked to be a bit more unique and make the player base his decisions on the type of dragon available, while also motivating the players to get the objectives.

So... here are my thoughts. How about Mordekaiser's dragon ghost changes depending on the dragon available?

First and foremost, all dragons deals less magic damage than before. ( The trade-off. Seems legit )

...then, each dragon grants unique bonuses ONLY WHILE THEIR GHOST IS STILL ACTIVE:

-Infernal: Grants increased damage to allies in an area around Mordekaiser -Mountain: Grants resistances in an area around Mord ( kind of what Aegis of the Legion used to do ) -Ocean: Heals allies in an area around Mord for 5% of their missing health every 5 seconds ( kind of what Poro king does ) -Cloud: Grants Mordekaiser and his allies Tenacity and increased movespeed when moving towards the Dragon or Mordekaiser

Elder might as well stay the same. Or maybe change it too.

!!! Keep in mind i said all dragons deal less magical damage as a trade-off. Or maybe we can think of other trade-offs

As a conclusion, my idea was to help Mordekaiser get some teamfight potential even when he isnt "fed", as he doesnt have CC, he cant really soak up that much dmg, and he cant really deal sustained dps and his burst requires time to ramp up. He will prioritize getting dragons, and other objectives early, while still being somewhat relevant mid-late game.

Your idea contradicts itself. Adding more power to a very situational powerspike as it is means taking power from elsewhere in his Kit. BTW his W's sustain is the only reason Mordekaiser is still a champion and that's a shitty solution his problems

Rework him from the ground up
S1 morde main out

Well yeah but he is dependent on this situational powerspike as of now too. But he is still too liniar and in a way boring, and late game he falls off. Hard. He is either smashing or getting smashed by others. My idea was not to rework him, just a hotfix to make him more flavourful, and help establish his identity ( cuz as of now he has big personality issues ) as the guy who can make a comeback with a dragon, the one that helps his team get objectives and gives buffs. Establish him as a farm jungler with an objective based path.

Sure, call it situational, but Morde, as we speak, isnt an established champion. He has attack dmg ratios, ability power ratios, hp ratios, and very jumbled up while at it. Play him top, you dont use W passive; play him jungle, same issue. Not to mention he got no cc or gap closers either, to top it off he is slow.PLUS he doesnt have that much health, like normal juggernauts. Mid he isnt the best imo while supp or adc, well....

Sure. The best would be if they just gave more real Juggernaut stats. And maybe add atleast a slow in his kit. But riot will never do that.

I seriously hope for the rework, but i feel like i'm waiting for something that will definitely not happen. The best bet would be a hotfix.
