Anecdote

I recently played a game where I was planning on playing jungle . He is a highly contested pick and so I asked my first pick if he would trade with me for the champion he wanted, and he agreed. I ended up picking him as he asked and I then waited for the pick phase to end. Lo and behold, he didn't trade with me during the final phase of champion select. I started spamming in the chat: trade, trade, trade, TRADE, but he didn't answer. My team saw what was going down and right then and there all of our hopes for winning that precious LP were lost. I ended up going jungle and feeding and he did the same as top eventually until we lost. I am the only one who this happens to, and I don't see enough people talking about it. I am about to propose and idea that may blow Riot's mind. (sarcasm)

My Idea

Riot should implement a system where you can trade in the picking phase. That chrome icon is irresistible and you have to watch some YouTube, you can't just sit in champion select, and that is understandable, but if the person trading with you tells you the champion they want, you should immediately be able to trade with them right after you lock in. This will significantly reduce the amount of games lost because of getting a jungle and a support. I hope a rioter reads this and can bring it up to the team that deals with champion select. This would positively affect all players in ranked and I think it would be amazing to have this go through, I am sure I wouldn't be the only happy one.
