Matchmaking
Starting about 3-4 weeks ago i found out that the matchmaking system has some...problems. One of them is about the skill level(known as the MMR). The actual problem is that, if you play normal games and get a winning streak and your MMR is like Gold 1 and you are for example Silver 3 you will have this MMR for ranked games as well, potentially leading to losses.
I can't just ask for a solution, this is something complicated, so i found out two ways to make matchmaking more equal:
- Separating the ranked MMR and the normal game MMR, and if you got to level 30 you start from the skill of Bronze 5, getting more MMR on the way.
2)(more complex) This also includes separating the normal games from the ranked games, but in a more complex way. One of the changes is that if you are in a division like Gold 3 you get teammates ONLY from your division REGARDLESS of your current MMR (In the provisional games you still get matched with players based of your MMR that you get through the 10 games, much like in the first solution).
As a note: i know that diamond or challenger players don't have this problem because they are anyway one of the best players, but the ones like me (i am Silver 5 right now) do have it, because I can get myself to gold if i get matched with players from my division, but I can't do so if I get ones from a higher skill level.
This also can stop the community from telling someone '' Bronze 5 noob'' only because he plays more normal games and has a high MMR and when he goes in ranked he gets losses(this actually happened to me).
