is there a limit set for magic penetration and armor penetration?

I found myself fed, with 33 flat and 48% magic pen and room for one more item that item i bought had 15% magic penetration and the 15% penetration stat on said item did not share the same name as any of my other items and when i bought the item my penetration did not increase and more. is there a developer set maximum amount? even if its possible to buy more will it not increase above this level? if so i would have bought more ap instead. thanks!!! =) glhf

Well the only magic penetration item with percentage is void staff with 40%, and morellonomicon and sorc shoes have 15 flat pen which is 30 flat total.

Can you tell me what champ you was playing? Because the numbers in the top paragraph are the maximum magic pen you can get from items.

The item he was talking about was rageblade I think since that does give 15% magic pen.

Ahhh i just checked the match you are talking about.

Rageblade and Void staff have the dissolve passive, the same passives don't stack so you will only recieve the highest number which is void staffs 40%.

The other 8 percent is from mordekaisers E passive.

Overall, magic penetration and armour penetration doesn't have a set limit like cooldown reduction does. The only blockage the game has from preventing you from reaching 100% penetration, is the fact that there is only 2 percentage magic penetration items in the game, and you can only benefit from 1 of them.

Ummmm what? Pen doesn't have a limit. But also rageblade which I think you bought doesn't stack with void since the passive name is dissolve.

Also how did you get 48% pen??? Void only gives 40%.

He was playing mordekaiser. His E has a magic pen passive
