Jax's Counterstrike VS. Irelia's Bladesurge

Why can Jax's Counterstrike allow him to dodge an Irelia's Bladesurge Why I decided to bring this up: -**Irelia's Bladesurge **is Not An Auto Attack, it is a Dash That Deals Damage. nowhere in the spell description says its an auto attack -Jax's Counterstrike puts him into a defensive state to dodge only Basic Attacks

Jax's E blocks both AA's and on hit effect applying abilities. On hit effect applying abilities are treated like auto attacks except from the fact that they usually cannot crit (MF's/GP's Q are an exception to this).

What about Yasuo's Q? Isn't it about the same?

I do believe if Jax is the first target hit by Yasuo's Q, he will block it. If he isn't, it will go right through the Counterstrike.

Negative brother, me and my friend just tested it. Yasuo's Q goes through even if he is the first person hit. It says "Dodged!" but he still takes the damage.

It doesn't apply effects past the first hit so it's coded differently

Can this be explained more thoroughly?

The first target hit is counted as an auto attack and on hit effects are applied. The second unit is effected as tho it was hit by a normal spell. So it's like gp q on first target and then Lucian q on anything it hits beyond that.
