My MMR in Normals.

So, I'm new to league. I started in Season 4(about half way through.) and I'm currently silver 1. When I play normal games, by myself I only get matched up with people that are high gold, plat, or diamond. I know this is because my normals MMR is stupidly high compared to my rank. I do not have a problem playing against higher ranked people, I actually do quite well every game. (I main cass, karthus, xerath mid. sion, nasus top. and vi, twitch jungle.) -I hate bot lane-

But the thing is, I can only play champions I know VERY WELL against these players, as they are all FAR more experienced than me at the game. should I even try to play a new champion or a champion I don't play VERY often, I have a very hard time. or if I try to play with my friends even if they are in silver they get matched against people with my MMR and we all just have a very hard time beating them. (inb4 people tell me to just make a smurf.)

I would like to reset my MMR for normals, that way I could learn all my champions over again without having to make a smurf, because that just seems like a silly solution. I don't want to bash on people that just installed the game. but I would like to play against people my own league so I don't have to try my ass off every game. Winning isn't always fun that way. When I know I can only play and carry with certain champions and roles. Like when I play with firends if I don't play Karthus or Cassiopeia it seems like we lose A LOT of games just because they are facing people that I shouldn't even be facing. Any thoughts/solutions for this? thanks for your input.

They won't do an MMR reset for you.

And while your normal MMR may be slightly high (there's nowhere to actually see this anymore), the likely cause of this is actually that all your opponents have a lower MMR than they truly should. This seems pretty common in the plat+ range, because many of these people play far more ranked than they do normal. Their skill may have increased quite a bit since they last played normals regularly, and they don't play normal games often enough for their normal MMR to catch up. If they do play a lot of normals, those could be with friends who aren't as good, so they end up not getting the results they normally would have, holding their MMR down a little bit.

It would be nice if they had a loose correlation between the two. Like, if a player's ranked MMR gets so much higher than their normal MMR, have it slowly nudge up the normal MMR.
