by removing the champion shard reroll system, and fusing blue essense with ip, did riot just make the game more pay to play? i have all the champions so sitting on about 15 champion shard does nothing for me
Quepha1 votesNo, champion unlock rates for almost all players should be slightly faster now. And that's before counting the removal of rune prices which encouraged new players to buy champions.
Lag1 votesi meant if you had all the champions, back then you can reroll champion shards when new champions came out and instantly get the new champions. but now they removed that, and now my champion shards have no purpose except the exceptionally bad return rate of blue essence it gives

Lag1 votesno i understand that, but then why take out something that helps people that have older accounts? ive been playing the same account ever since this game started and i had all the champs and all the runes before they changed things. i just want the ability to get new champs when it comes out without spending my blue essence, since i do have so many champion shards

Sarutobi1 votesBut how is it Pay to Play when you have so many free chances to get chest? You get a Chest every time you get an S-Rank with a champion once per season. Currently that means you can get over 130 chest assuming you own most/all the champions. You periodically get a random amount of keys, all free just by playing. Then you can get Honor Capsules if you reach the required Honor Ranks, which is a free chest that doesnt need a key to unlock. Again all of this is free, so how exactly is it Pay to Play when you dont HAVE to spend a dime on this game? The only thing i dont like is the fact we dont get BE after a match. Just gaining EXP doesnt seem worthwhile especially at a higher level when it can takes days to levels up.

You can queue up as many times as you want to play, there’s no “energy” or “stamina” that you see in other pay to play models. It’s not pay to play.
