Please Keep 3v3 Alive

Dear Riot/Tencent,

I've played this game since season 1, I've invested far too much time, energy and money, more than I care to admit and more than any sane human should. That being said I vividly remember the early days of the game.

I started playing this, like I imagine a Lot of people did in the golden years of LoL with 3v3. That's where I discovered the first time I wanted to "main" a champ. That where I met people who taught me how to play, and thats where I always go if I actually want to enjoy the game. I've met people I can call friends from that mode which is more than I could say about 5v5, the community that plays it is overall a lot more chill and the games can be very fast paced, fun and enjoyable. The thing holding Twisted Tree line is it's lack of exposure from Riot since Season 1, lack of balance, and the janky ass map and how broken champs that interact with terrain are. However more and better 3v3 players have covered what could be done to fix and balance the mode, so there isn't any real point in beating that dead horse.

While this was covered extensively by others, it is clear you did your best to assassinate the mode by not providing a single meaningful change to it in 4 to 5 years. And I bet it's for the same reason as what you did for dominion. It wasn't so much a case of "it costs too much to keep it up vs the player base" because queue times were never high, it's the Same as then. People who predominantly play 3v3 are not likely to play 5vs5, the competitive game mode you actively push in all. You could have made 3v3 competitive, you could have had smaller scale worlds for 3v3. If you invested a small amount of care and time into it, it could have been as popular. I wish Riot wouldn't hide behind some wall of "no-one plays it" and "It wouldn't be worth the resources to give it ARAM support" when they had the balls to "utilise resources well" creating paid stat trackers (which we had in the old launcher) that would make your mastery 7 emote slightly fancier... or how about going out of your way to create an entire skin and monitasation system for TFT when it was release in BETA (not to mention TFT shouldn't belong in LoL and should be it's own separate launcher but not getting into that can of worms). I know the community is active and there are more than enough of us playing. I've never had issues queuing for it, be it ranked or normal, it's never taken more than a few seconds at best.

I honestly think this mode is a lot more that Riot wants to admit, and it is a huge part of what league is and used to be. Probably talking to a wall that will never even notice, but I will honestly miss this mode so dam much, and the last part that made league special and gave it a soul and identity will die with it, along with my desire to play considering how toxic the game has become and changes that are to come. I think the biggest fucking insult is for players who've playeds this for 1000's of matches will get a shitty old icon, that can be earned by the leveling bots that run rampant in the mode. I think we all waited for 3v3 solo q forever but never really got it, and yes flex is nice (which we also got way too late), but a true solo q would have been amazing where there were no 2 or 3 man teams going vs solos. Riot you could have had the greatest mode with hype moments that could rival that of 5v5 but you chose to kill this mode in the most brutal way a game company could.... Pure neglect.

Here's to Twisted Treeline! You've brought me much joy. I remember the time I was 15 and woke up my entire house because I manage to ace the enemy as Yi when I was still a total monkey who couldn't CS and won what seemed like an unwinnable game, the time I met so many cool people. You taught me the basics of csing, how effective roaming could be, the fear of not warding the red (rip the old map) and importance of helping your jung (even though we mostly thought jung in 3v3 was mega troll in season 1 and 2 unless it was shaco). It's here where my love for the game lived, here where I taught my friends how to play, and the Only game mode left where me and a few friends could team up and laugh our asses off while playing a match and have a genially good time. I think what little love and fondness I had for league will die with this mode. So long old friend, you will be truly missed!
