New HUD discussion megathread. * /r/leagueoflegends

Riot has produced the new HUD and tested it on the PBE.... Then they have pushed it onto the game with no option for " keep original HUD ".... Im not going to ramble or expect you to read my novel on HUD hate... But what I am hoping for is Riot to put an option to put the old HUD as an option... I am going to include a poll for getting the old HUD as an option... I play this game to enjoy my self... With this new HUD I am no longer enjoying my self... Searching for information is not fun unless I am searching google.

Khazix Change is good.

It'll take a while to get used to it. We have used the old HUD for many years and we know where everything is by now. The new HUD is better. Things are organized more properly and less scattered around. You no longer have to scan your whole screen for the info you need before a teamfight. It'll take some time to get used to it, though. Personally, I'm currently used to the fact that the items are next to the abilities, but not yet to the repositioning of your KDA and team KDA and especially not to the new scoreboard. Although I think the current one is better than the old one, it still takes more time to find what I want. But that is because I don't know yet in advance where it is supposed to be. Over time, this'll get a lot better, though. You just need to play enough games to fully adapt.

The problem with having the option to stick to the old HUD is

  • People will never adapt to the new, improved HUD.
  • Every patch, they'll have to test things with both HUDs, doubling the amount of effort needed for detecting bugs.

How I feel about the new HUD is all the information is squashed into one corner? I dont like everything forced into one place... even the ability to be able to split up the HUD like in *Tera. You can drag and place at will

I like the new spell layout but the CS/KDA isnt friendly since its right next to everything else... forcing that much information into one space and you locate that information fast and timely... Cant wait to see the uproar when they force it on ranked...

What would be nice if you could tell me why you are fine with the new HUD over the old one?

Same for your opinions on why you should be able to keep the old HUD as a game option?

A HUD that you're not used to will always take longer to read, just like how it took a while to read things when you first started the game.

Give it time. The new HUD places 90% of the information you could ever care about in the bottom right of your screen, so you barely need to take your eyes off of the minimap.

Facebook interface changes have similar "transition pains" too. Everyone whines for weeks, sometimes even months, then they get used to it, forget about it, and enjoy the site more than they did before. This will be the same story.

Many things in the Hud have things too big and things too small.

I cannot scale the team player portraits any bigger then they currently are at maximum nor can I make my minimap bigger.

Personal Stat icons along with the numbers are also too small for me to read.

The only thing I like about this hud is hitting tab I can move portraits around and I can visibly see my teammates ultimate timers on a circle clock.
