CS and vision score are very important to your champion grade, but yours were pretty lackluster in this game.

You had 115 CS in a 25 minute long game and a ward score of 6, even with that great score of 13/0/11 it won't result in an S. The average by that point should be about 200 CS and somewhere above 15+ ward score.

Not trying to rag on you, just trying to point out why you didn't get the S.

All good. It happens all the time to me, I'm usually one of the first to click on a post but I take forever to type while I watch videos :p so no biggie

It's actually all relative to your MMR.

Unless he's high Gold/Plat+ MMR I'm pretty sure his Cs/Min wouldn't be whatever 200 at 25 would be. Last night I had a Renek mid game on my other account that went 15 mins, I had a 6/1/1 KDA, and 108 CS 7/min. Those are both pretty good for a low silver account, but I also only had a 29% KP, ~25% Dmg%, CC Score of 17, Obj damage of 900 which was lowest on my team. and a VS of a shitty 4 (3 Wards placed, 0 destroys, 0 pinks) but because I was playing on a low mmr account, my KDA and CS got me a S-, as they are weighted a lot more heavily then the rest.

Do you have a link to some place that confirms this? I've never heard of that before, just that it was based on the average performance of other players in that role.

That's only giving you an S- there because of where you played the champion. Renekton is mainly a top laner, so playing him elsewhere and doing fairly decent is going to bring a better result easier. It has nothing to do with the MMR of a player. It's just relative to how others play the champion, where you play that champion, the KDA, CS, Objectives, ect.

I'm 100% sure it takes into account how other players play that champion around your skill level. While I do agree it could of been the mid factor as to why it overlooked the rest of the shit stats, a lot of those could very well of been the same stats top as a lot of the time Top is still a island in lower Elo play, specially since it was over in 15mins.

Otherwise you have instances where those bronze Yas mains wouldn't be level 7 because they come nowhere near the stats that a Challenger Yas main would. How many Bronzes do you see that can get perfect CS, while having high KPs, Dmg shares, Obj damage and VS. Not very many, if any. Granted ya every once in awhile they would maybe get that S, it wouldn't happen often if that was how high the bar was, we'd prolly barely see any level 7s in the lower Elos.

I can also argue that I play Renek mid on my main account against certain match ups and I've hard roughly the same KDA and Cs/Min but higher other stats and gotten a A, it very much pits you against players of your skill level's average when deciding what grade you get.

No, I get that you're not trying to rag on me. Thanks for the answer bud.

How long was the game? How much damage did you do to turrets/objectives? What were your crowd control and vision scores?

In TL;DR, you earn a good grade by covering every element of a good performance, not just KDA and CS.

KDA and CS are not the only elements that dictate your end-grade. If you ended a game with 11/0/13 with only 115 cs at 25 minutes as anyone but support, you’re not likely to score an S or S-. If you got 11/0/13 off of last-hits and not maximized damage, that may also affect your grade. If you provided no vision or your wards didn’t cover important areas on the map, your grade may also suffer.

Lol, Mastery score isn't just based on k/d/a... it takes into account CS, Vision and team contribution, then it compares these to other players in that role as that champion. getting an S means that u performed better than 90+% of the others on avg... eachtime someone gets an S that threshold is pushed up a tiny bit.

So pretty much the easiest way to increase ur chance of getting an S is to CS as close to perfectly as possible (exceeding perfect if possible lol), Ward as often, smartly and efficiently as possible and try to contribute as much as u can in fights (goes without saying u should try to minimize ur deaths too). It might be better to get an Assist from pumping out 98% of the dmg than securing the kill based on a stray last hit without contribution, try to secure turrets and objectives, focus more on macro than micro etc.
