Hello everyone, based on KuroZed's reply on Jacked Nasty's post Broken Matchmaking, causing unfair games, I think that it is a very good ideea for newly ranked players to start at Bronze 5. Imo this will increase the quality of matchmaking in all tiers.

I've been playing this game for many years, and after thousands of games played, I came to the coclusion that the system is flawed. It cannot prevent unskilled players from playing with more skilled players. It just doesn't work. Stop trying to pretend it does.

So I was thinking maybe Riot will see this post and implement this, as I belive this is a good ideea.

EDIT:

I belive that placement matches are irrelevant because one can get lucky or he can get carried by smurfs/friends, which makes placement matches totally useless and irrelevant imo.

Think of it this way, everybody starts at Bronze 5, that means that only the worthy will be able to climb out of bronze, only the players who have the least amount of skill.

I belive that this will also lower the amount of smurfs (smurfs = players who play in low elo so they don't lose their borders)

Riot's system IS working pretty well with the exception of Flex queue but you can't hate on that too much since it is preseason and its a totally new queue with different MMR. With Riot's system you climb if you're better than players and drop if you're not.

It's a horrible idea to put newly ranked players at Bronze 5, especially when there's a thing called smurfing. That creates a huge imbalance of players at the lowest level of play.

The placement matches are used to judge where your relative position should be. The first batch of games after placements are worth more until your MMR and skill is more accurately defined.

Also the post you refer to is totally irrelevant to the ranked match making. That's a normal game he referred to which is totally different from ranked game match making. The two are made different because many people use normals to try out new things and it is not nearly as competitive meaning a diamond player could have the same rating as a bronze.
