Jungle in Low Elo
I've been playing league for a few years now and jungle has been one of the least appealing roles to me. I like the champions in jungle because I would play them in top lane but the role itself has no merit.
The jungle role is so inconsistent. I mean sure there has been more variety and options added thanks to the new dragons and rift herald but it almost seems impossible to be able to effectively play the role when knowing 1 or 2 jungle routes. The skill floor for jungle(the role not the champions) is also fairly higher than other roles. There isn't even anything in the tutorial for jungle. Moreover, most roles don't need you to take a summoner spell
, and item. It just seems less like fun and more like a chore(which is probably what people are trying to avoid in the first place.)
The only reason why I feel that this needed to be said now is because of Riot's attempt at making other champions better junglers. Which I don't understand. Isn't this type of thing what riot was trying to avoid when champions like Swain could be played in 4 roles. Doesn't that seem wrong.
I may be in Low-Elo like most of league's populace but isn't there a better solution. There could be a part of the tutorial where it goes over the jungle role. Maybe even make it to where junglers don't have to take smite and instead there jungle item would have a less powerful smite active(sorta like support items). This enables players to take other summoner spells like ignite or exhaust. In addition, it allows for more experimentation with jungle items.
