Auto Fill Is Literally a Joke
It seems like every game I go through Support is always being Auto-Filled by someone who has literally no idea what they're doing. If you are lucky 1 of 2 things will happen. Either A) Someone who knows how to support will swap with them (WHICH COMPLETELY DESTROYS THE POINT OF AUTO-FILL). Or B) Someone on your team will dodge for you.
If you're smart, then you will dodge. -.-
Entering a game with an auto fill support. First example of what will happen most likely every time.
A) 2 mins in. Enemies get FIRST BLOOD within a few minutes on support. ADC is now left to defend tower alone, gets up to level 4 or 5 and his lowly level 2 support come. This brilliant support sees how much dmg the level 5 ADC is doing and decides to go in to help out and get ADC a kill. Dies immediately. Rages. ADC asks support wtf they're doing. Support wanders back into lane, maybe level 3, gets CC'd. Gets ulted. Dies. Congrats. You're 6 mins in the game and enemy ADC had 4 kills.
Second example of what will happen every game with an Auto-Filled support.
B) Support plays safe. Maybe gets good pokes. But doesn't know how to peel for ADC or who to focus in fights. Attacks creeps, even when pinged not to. Doesn't know what to build. Buys sight stone. Never uses it. Never buys control wards. When mid game comes doesn't comprehend the value in support related items. Often dies in exchange for a kill for someone on your team. Claims it was worth.
Both examples the support cries to your team. "I don't play support. This role is for p***ies. I got Auto-Filled. I wanted mid all along and I got this"
Well this is just great. At this point the ADC would rather of played a 1v2 lane. And the rest of the team could agree that the support should AFK.
So, unless someone who actually knows how to support gets Auto-Filled in as one, your basically going to loose every game.
I must ask my audience. Wouldn't this be the case in every single one of your games? No one simply learns to support by getting it down in one game of ranked, (if your Auto-Fill does decent to good then obviously they know how to support none of this applies to them.) So why would Riot even make this a thing in ranked? Seriously Riot. We understand you want to keep QUE time down and all but get this sh*t out of ranked. Keep it in norms and have ranked be a 20+ minute wait. I would rather wait for someone to play support then get an Auto-Fill. (Plus this would actually entice players to play support more often considering they would know they would get into games much quicker then anyone else. After more and more supports realize this the QUE time wouldn't be so terrible.
One last thing, since I seem to be seeing this everywhere as well...
(For any or all of you out there who believes dying in exchange for A kill is worth. It's not. That is an excuse you give yourself to convince yourself you're doing good, when in reality, you died. You should always have plan to escape, or know exactly how your going to get this kill and live. If you're going in without your brain, then your lane partner will find it, smash it, and smear it's brainy guts all over your very very dead corpse.)
