Mastery Page Question- effectiveness of crowd control and slows

So i was going threw the masterys and had a few questions. So if my Champion has a crowd control skill, in the mastery page under defense "tenacious" it reduces the effect of crowd control by 15%, would this in turn reduce mine and my teams?

The short answer is no. Actually, the long answer is also just no, I have no idea why you would think that.

The mastery reduces the duration of CC applied to you.

If does not affect the duration of CC you use.
