Maybe Im Missing Something When It Comes to LP and MMR ?

So maybe it's a lack of understanding of the big picture or maybe it's just a bug right now but LP seems busted right now. Yes I know it's preseason so maybe that is the big picture I am overlooking but I don't understand why that would affect LP and MMR so significantly! I have been playing a lot because I would like to raise my MMR for my ranked placement games this season but it just seems like I am hurting it more than I am helping it! I consider myself an average player and have peaked at Silver 1. I go on win streaks and I go on losing streaks but normally it doesn't affect my LP and MMR this much. Is this just a preseason thing? For example earlier I played and won 2 games and gained 13 and 12 LP respectively. That would indicate to me a low MMR which is confusing cause I had checked the other day and it was a little higher than the average for my tier in Silver 2. I then proceeded to lose the next game and lost 23 LP?????? SOMEONE EXPLAIN PLZ! Am I supposed to be a god and just win all the time like I don't understand. Like I know that I need to get better and there are clearly obvious flaws in my game but all I'm asking is that when I am playing well I am rewarded!!!!!
