I foolishly started my prelims in duo queue and went 1-5 before attempting solo and winning most of those for an overall 3-7 win-loss for my first ever league prelims. The thing that surprised me as I the treasure chest opened after my last game was that I was placed in Silver 4, Pantheon's Elite. Most guides say that that win-loss will get you placed in bronze, and explanations?

KzooCrasher2 votesThe MMR is who you lose against you could lose against weaker teams but win the later promo games and win against players at a higher mmr those higher wins mean more
Useless Ali gg1 votesLet me give it to you straight. The earlier in the season you play rank the lower you will be placed if it's your 1st time. The later you play you will be placed higher.

Duo queue isn't bad, especially if your duo partner is any good. I'm guessing you didn't enjoy the experience of duo'ing with a Bronze V. Also, you were playing with Silvers most of the time which is how you got Silver status
Tip: Don't get Rylai's Crystal Sceptar at all on Ahri. Especially not early game... Maybe as a 6th item... It's not very cost efficient, especially if you're behind. The 3 items you got that build into it would've been a lot better spent on Void Staff instead. Like the Giant's Belt and Blasting Wand, 1800 gold, would've been better spent on Large Vod. vs a Lux, Chalice then working toward deathcap is also a good choice to go. I recently had an Ahri in my ranked match that got Rylai's as second item and it did not go well at all.
Sailor Mint1 votesAverage initial placement seems much higher at the end of a season compared to the start of a season. Most Bronze players these days are either career Bronze players who have been there for multiple seasons or people who kept a <40% win rate and eventually got demoted to Bronze.
