This is the worst nerf to any adc ever (_THE KALISTA NERF_)

TRT Verlosser··7 votes·2,104 views

Kalista's win rate fell to the lowest win rate out off all of the adc's since the nerf on patch 8.4 , she is now the worst adc in the game , why not nerf vayne and tristana since they are the obvious strongest and most annoying champions in the bot lane for the last 2 months ??? This nerf to kalista is the most frustrating thing I have ever had to deal with after a patch , she cant farm properly with the drop from attack range on top of the insane nerf to her e mana return , how was this even considered ok ? did anyone test her before this patch was signed off . She can now get abused for trying to farm to the point where farming is not viable against most of the meta now . Ill say it again , her win rate is now the worst out off all of the adc's , RIOT PLEASE FIX THIS .. she is completely unplayable now !

Shh. The balance team finally started jumping off the damagecreep "buff every underperforming adc" bandwagon, maybe if we get to see some other adcs nerfed balance will be in sight.

Lol. No then someone else will just be the strongest.

Your post is misinformed.

  1. Kalista is running 54-55% among people who actively play her. Her OVERALL win rate is 45% because there are a lot adcs who pick her up and play less than 50 games with her. Her mechanics have a learning curve that's speed, but once learned secure games hard.

  2. In LCS, Kalista was the only champ who averaged 773 damage per minute of play to champs. The Average damage per minute was around 500. Even Zoe only pulled 356 damage to champs per minute.

She's not unplayable at all. She's dominating on people who play her regularly. One of the hardest champs in the game to hit with skill shots.

Her weaknesses isn't her. It's that she often has an enchanter support so she can't properly ult.

To counter your second point, the reason why Kalista's damage per minute was so high is because she often default won lane because of how oppressive her laning phase is against the likes of Tristana and Twitch.

Second, enchanter supports are fine with Kalista, and you can totally throw them in, they rebound at their auto attack range and are given a little grace period to do whatever they need to do get the fuck out because it's a 2 second knockup.

Jinx or Cait or Varus all have longer range, yet they don't outdamage her.

Enchanter duos are fine in ranked average play. But in LCS, any toss of a support is extremely risky, and even in normal play. If your enchant needed to skill to keep you alive, or needed freedom to self skill to survive themselves, your ult generally makes it a 1v2 fight. it's a skill which can create low elo conditions where a vulnerable person is caught out, in games where the whole point is to farm forever and avoid those situations.

Jinx doesn't have longer range without rockets, and if she uses rockets, she pushes the lane which is the exact opposite to the desired effect she wants.

And my point was about damage, not about range, Kalista's Rend makes it so oppressive to trade against her because of the additional base damage, and her passive gives her the ability to stay in range to attack longer and kite bruisers in later game teamfights.

And who said that Kalista has to use her ultimate offensively? Her ability to peel for her support is ridiculous with Fate's Call. There is no one proper use of ultimate.

The only reason why this nerf is considered acceptable to Riot is because in the upper echelon of League (master tier and above), Kalista has been pick ban for three and a half seasons straight.

She may be shitty in the silver/gold meta, but her winrate only keeps rising the higher up you go. She is permabanned in LCS and is not allowed to be good, because when she IS good, she's broken.

Scripters and boosters can play her like a fiddle and win almost any game, even after the changes.

....then nerf her e stacking on epic monsters infinitly, not her auto range... thats why shes pick or ban.

It's actually her high mobility that breaks her. Rend is only the cherry on top.

In the hands of a master (or a scripter) Kalista is basically unhittable by skillshots.

I understand and agree that it's not fair that she is balanced entirely around the mobility level of other champions, but that's just a consequence of her design unfortunately.

Negating over 1/3 of all champions should disqualify a champion from being good.

What the hell did you expect with a CertainlyT champion? Everything he designs is broken or weak as hell, and buffing the things that are weak as hell makes them broken. There is no middle ground with him.

I wouldn't agree with this point, I've been maining Kalista since Season 5, and I've seen what Kalista can do, and I think that this nerf was 100% justified and will help her mold into a better identity. The worst nerfs to Kalista I think were 6.6, where they essentially went against everything Kalista could have possible stood for and gutted her into oblivion.

First off, 550-> 525 is not going to make any bit of difference. In lane, more often than not, when she's trading with you, she's on top of you. You will feel this range decrease against the likes of Ashe or Cait, but against the others? not really. This is more sensitive to pro play where ADC players actually abuse their range advantages.

The second thing was in relation to her E mana cost changes, I think that these were good nerfs because before these nerfs, she could essentially shove and push the wave starting from level 1 for free. This made her extremely hard to trade against in lane with any form of support, and also enabled her to shit on any hypercarry in lane. She can still spam rend, pretty frequently, but now she needs to actually think about her mana issues she would be posed to if she did so. This is essentially a return to the time before patch 7.1.

Third, she's not unplayable, she's actually better in the hands of a good player than with say the likes of any other ADC, her skill learning curve is incredibly high, and her dependency on her support makes it more so.

The compensatory buffs to her late game were also of significant consideration, they enable her to scale much better later into the game as a result of such a high base attack speed ( higher base attack speed = more value gained from bonus attack speed)

Kalista is literally 100% banned in pro play.

There 100 more ways to nerf her "insane" utility and one of them is NOT auto attack range. The E mana nerf is nothing when you reach level 9 and unecesarry since you cant bully the lane anymore when your range is close to Thresh's basic attack. The auto range nerf killed her. She may still be relevant in LCS, but she is dead in solo queue.
