LP rework

Last night I played a ranked game, and I did really well compared to my team. I was play thresh, I went 8/0/12 and carried my lane. My ADC repeatedly fed the enemy Mid laner, Jungler, and top laner. they were playing tristana, and never step foot in the bot lane. Trist threw that game causing us to lose, while saying "Report me, I don't care, it's just a game, get a life." I was demoted out of my rank for this, even though I did really well and this got me thinking that we need a better LP system.

Do to the fact that this season is almost over, I am running into smurfs left and right, people carrying their buddies to higher ranks just because, and now I am finding that getting a fair and true games is incredibly hard. In this game as it currently is, the player is being punished in lower elos if they follow the ToS. If you don't get someone to smurf for you, then you are almost guaranteed to lose the game, keeping you in low elo hell.

Now, I understand that this is a team game, however, giving players ranks means you intent to show that players skill level, so having a system where a players skill level doesn't tie into their rank kind of defeats the purpose. Having a base LP gain/loss per win/loss doesn't represent skill. Here is what I was hoping for.

Just like the mastery score, which is indifferent whether you win or lose, LP should work that way as well. LP gained/Lost should be based off of average score of the players at your MMR, and ELO.

So if you do really well, you would gain 16LP. If you do above average you would gain 8LP. If you perform average, you would gain 1-2LP. If you do below average, you would lose 4-8LP. If you do really bad, you would lose 16LP.

If your team won the game, you would get your LP gained, plus 4LP. If your team lost the game, you would get your LP gained, minus 4LP.

I am tired of being stuck in my ranked because I am unable to carry a game as thresh, I am at the moment Bronze 1, which plays in low Gold ELO in norms when ever I play with my friends. I am constantly playing in higher Elo's then my own and doing really well, yet I am stuck in my rank and it is becoming more and more frustrating.

Please let me know if you guys agree or disagree with my view on how the LP system should work.

A system like this has been suggested many times, and the problem with it is that it is gameable. When you identify what leads to a good or bad score, players are incentivized to ensure that they're doing above average, even if that means risking a loss by extending the game, failing to sacrifice themselves in a teamfight where doing so would lead to victory, etc. It's just unhealthy for the game.

Ok so..

You are getting creamed in basically all of your ranked games.

The only games you did good in is the 8-0 thresh game you are using as your example and a pyke game you did decent in.

You are playing against golds in normal games because the dude you queued with is a gold player.

Smashing a dude that basically only plays ARAM in a normal game while your jgler friend camps your lane is not a good excuse to have a higher rank.

Personal LP only works til a limit. I think it's important, even neccessary to give LP based on your very own perfomance, on the other hand you should use LP when losing, because its a ranked system it has to work like this. Example: I once had a game with a Yasuo in my team who fed the enemy toplaner like shit. It was insane. Around minute 20 he was 0/11/2. It wasnt going good, even though all the other lanes were doing quite even, teamfights were always a 4v5 and we couldnt contest objectives. Nonetheless this Yasuo did his job, everyone was flaming him to a point were I personally would've jsut afk tbh. But Yasuo just splitpushed wherever he could, baited out their ults and pressured them on the sidelines so we had the change to win 4v4 or even 4v3. He pushed the base all by himself and won the game almost singlehandedly. He went 1/19/2. Judging his Kda he shouldnt get many LP right? And thats were the system would be kind of lacking.
