Changing Support Roles

^ I'm not a support main, but I feel like support is the role that the least amount of people would pick to play in ranked. If you put support as secondary or if you fill your probably gonna get support. People are reluctant to play support roles because if your team is bad (trash), you don't have a chance of winning, I also feel like it's pretty boring, you don't have much to do and it's not fun or engaging. When you're playing support you only can watch your teammates feed and feed and then ff@20. I feel if Supports had a bigger impact on the outcome of the game people won't shy away from playing support. Players will also be willing to put support as a secondary or even a primary. An idea I have for "new" supports are faster cd abilities, this will probably make support more active and have more things to do rather than finding a chance at 10-15 second intervals. Support's should have a chance at carrying the game, they should be able to have unique and engaging gameplay so that players will spend more time on supports and feel the sense of accomplishment after carrying his/her team. A support has to follow her/his teammates or else they will be bullied by other roles on the enemy team, they basically can't do anything by themselves. (Like when your teammates are all dead and it's only you and the other adc......what can you do but run?) It's a sense of helplessness when you play support roles and I think if Riot can change that then being support is something players are willing to do. It's pretty long and there aren't much suggestions to how to actually change the situation, but I it's just what I feel would improve the gameplay of League and the experience of being support on a team that has a disadvantage.

I know of one way I seen it before but I'm not sure how it works. It was always random duos who did it.

But those two games I do not regret being a solo bot. It was amazing. It worked well but idk the exact thing they did. But all I had to do was hold my own till I hit 6 and they both came bot and got me a double.

After that it was done.

But it required a duo jungle. But the second jungle was a PLAYMAKER type support like thresh and leo. Someone good for kills and then someone jungling who didn't have cc but had tons of damage.

Kinda like if bot and jungle switched. But I was still an adc bot.

Like one game it was a jungle ur got with a thresh in the jungle with him.

Idk how it worked. But it did and it threw the other team so far off.. both times I experiances it.

That is really cool, but for something like that you have to have a partner that has a pretty high integrity with you, it would probably be hard to pull of with random people in solo queue, but that is something I would totally try out with my friends, but in solo queue ranked...... I don't know if I would take the risk with random players.

I'm gonna see if i can convince some friends.. probably not but someone need to go something that can hold botlane till 6..

The rest for jungle and support is guessing... idk..

Word of warning, if you try to carry as a support. You will likely get flamed for not acting like a support. I don't think I can count how many times people flame me for KSing every time I play Sona. (Usually inadvertently)

Your best bet is to play a mage support. If your team is doing well, Continue being a rock star support. If someone screws up royally. (or worse AFKS) take over and Transition into an APC.

Also, any support who is self reliant, has already found a place in the solo lane. (Hey Lulu) If your going to find a Support that can carry, play a carry who can support.

Riot needs to stop treating the symptom and start treating the disease.

So far, their main "solutions" to support not being fun to play for 95% of the population are to either find ways for people to avoid playing support or find ways to "sneak" people into playing the support role they don't want to play.

The fact that people don't want to play support is a symptom of the fact that people do not find that role enjoyable to play.

If Riot had just focused on making support an actual fun role for the majority of players, they would never have needed to invent Teambuilder/Dynamic Queue, warding trinkets/sightstones, and other various junk that doesn't fix the core problem in the first place. People do not like spending half the game playing Riot's failed warding mini-game "chores" and having no gold or levels.

Surely Riot can figure some other way to distribute vision around the map and other ways to prevent high CC characters from being too strong; they have had years now.
