High Priority Queue (aka Solution to Prisoner's Island)
So I posted another discussion about how Bronze is already Prisoner's Island and I have compelling proof and testimony that I'm right. Putting that aside for the moment, rather than penalizing people and putting them in Low Priority Queue, and or confining them to Bronze with mechanics that keep people locked there more than it makes the game better (Autofill, Leaver Penalties, etc), why not create a High Priority Queue as a REWARD for people who play will with others, try hard to win, and display good sportsmanship?
Here's what I'm thinking: Remove incremental leaver penalties all together. Let people dodge, AFK, whatever. A 5 minute standard penalty is all you need. It doesn't need to get bigger. Instead of punishing people for dodging MORE, reward them for dodging LESS. If they play 10 games without dodging or leaving a game, put them in High Priority queue where they are matched with other people in High Priority queue on their team. This will teach people to work together, as a team, instead of dodging. Give them bonus LP for wins and less LP lost for a loss. Encourage people to work together and do well. Disable Autofill for High Priority queue OR give people the option to OPT IN to Autofill in High Priority if they want to get in a game faster.
Simply put, make it better for people who try to get along, not worse for people who refuse. That just punishes everyone when you get someone tilted and jaded on their team.
