Unsealed Spellbook Will be Meta Pick for Top and Support

In my humble opinion, I believe that "Unselaed Spellbook" (UnSp) cornerstone Rune, will become a top lane meta pick, and these are my reasons.

Revive and Teleport, are and insanely powerful teamfighting combination. Urf mode, when if was first released, provided enough evidence of this, but of course they worked so well, because the cooldowns were so low, that Riot had to remove this combination, by getting rid of Revive in this gamemode.

But the combo will be even more powerful with this Rune during ranked games, so much so that it will be a MUST PICK for top laners and supports.

Top laners usually provide the team with valuable initiation and front line capabilities. But they also die.

Revive is the most useless Summoner Spell for the first 30 or so minutes of a game. But after 30-35 minutes, it becomes so insanely valuable. Being able to swap it with flash during the late game, is awesomely good.

Imagine this scenario; after 35 minutes, there is a teamfight around Baron. Your top lane Malphite goes in, but gets destroyed, but you manage to also kill one of their guys; so it's a 4v4, no big deal. But your Malphite has UnSp, and instantly revives, and teleports back to the fight. This is like a guardian's angel, but WAAAAY better, because you have full health/mana. This single rune just changed the entire format of the teamfight so that it's now essentially 6v5.

I think this will become so meta for top laners, especially in the proscene, that riot will eventually have to change it somehow.

If your enemy top laner gets it, but your top laner doesn't, then your team basically can lose past the 30 minute mark.

The argument against this is that it's a lategame thing. That you give up other, more aggressive Runes that can essentially snowball a game. But this is a bruiser/tank/initiator pick. So a teammate could take it mid or even jungle. But the meta will be at least TWO of your teammates will need to have it, especially one of your front line guys.

Anyway, I've rambled;

TL;DR - This rune gives your team an EXTRA PLAYER during late game team fights. This will be insanely valuable since the enemy team will have to kill you TWICE just to win, and THREE times if you have guardian's angel, and FOUR times if you're a champ with a revive passive (Hahaha, just imagine this shit on Aatrox or Zac!!!!)

Revive

Please don't tell OP.

I love how you structure your post, it's refreshing to see someone clearly state their views followed by their argument.

You got a good point and counter point, I agree that it seems useful for top lane (with maybe other spells) but I think it's not good enough for bot lane. After looking through the patch notes, I noticed bot lane is going to be very intense, and if you can't keep up you're going to drown. Perhaps if both supports are passive then it'll be meta, but if one of the supports is aggro then they'll both have to spec for damage or survival. And ever since the ardent nerf engage supports have been getting more popular. I don't see room for the unsp rune in support.

Lol!

Yeah, no one ever used Revive EVER.

And I missed the patch note, back in season 5 that removed it from the game.

I guess they anticipated the broken formula in this new rune system, so they preempted it's death.

I just thought of this because I like watching pro players more than playing the game, and the recent SKT loss (spoiler alert), when FAKER was caught out, that they could have used this new rune system to come back instantly, or prolong the game a little bit.

I really had no idea that they removed it from the game. It would be as if they removed SKARNER, no one would notice.

or hear me out, you could play better and win the fight in the first place. and take literally anything else.

Revive doesn't exist.
