being able to restart you rank level or tier

it would be great if we had or would be able to restart our league rank so we can move out of the lower tiers which can hold us back from moving forward

Naw, then you'd just end up with a ton of bronze players spoiling silver matches and no way to really sort them out. If one 'silver' level player who apparently can't get out of bronze (implying almost by definition that they're a bronze level player) can reset to get a jump to silver, then they all can, so the 'silvers' who are 'getting held back by their teams' would continue to have the same teams.

(Also there would potentially be high rank players constantly reseting just to stomp on bronze/silver players repeatedly without the need to throw games to drag down their mmr or make smurfs.)

Or, maybe just maybe.. Carry yourself out of the lower tiers. A player is in the lower tiers because they need to prove themselves. Restarting defeats the purpose of this. You dig your own grave in league.
