I am so sadden by the fact that certain supports just aren't as useful as others are.

What I mean by this is how in most of my games that I play I have to versus champions like Janna Soraka Lulu or I get the few and far between Nami Bard. This is because of ardent censor still being such a good item, and it just feels like I cannot enjoy the supports I really enjoy to play in ranked because I'll end up at a disadvantage because of the item. I'm not good with numbers but does anyone have ideas that they could share about how to change this? I mostly main tank supports like Blitzcrank Alistar and Braum so the good item I can build is knights vow, but comparing that to ardent it feels so lack luster in comparison. First time posting on the boards by the way, just wanted to know other peoples opinions on this specific support topic of tank supports versus healer/shield supports.

Tank supports are not far behind Janna, Soraka, and Lulu. They're just harder to pull off consistently so you only see them get picked at super high elos and comp games.

i mean its like there is a meta and what champs are top tier constantly change from meta to meta ... its like prior to this season tank supports were meta and the strongest, with the likes of naut, trundle, shen, braum, alistar , thresh and now we have an enchanter meta those who do that the best seem to be hmm would one dare say meta ?

it comes and goes. there is ebb n flow the meta changes , sometimes slower then average and sometimes faster ... but it does change

Tank supports become god tier when paired with ADC like Kalista Xayah

There are also tank supports that can effectively build and use ardent as well Taric Rakan

If you look at pro games Alistar Thresh Braum are still really popular and see plenty of play
