I WOULD LIKE TO CLARIFY SOMETHING -- TRASH TALKING A DEFENSIVE PLAYER

At the end screen of every match I play there has to be a few people talking shit about others' way of playing. Let me please explain something to all of those who can't really listen to another person and only want to speak like a fu*king machine. When a player, say a top laner, plays and loses the lane right from the start, the first thing he would see in the chat is "play def". Now, of course, every single one of you here knows what that means right? it means play under tower, farm whatever you can, and do not ---- DO NOT --- engage in a 1v1 combat vs the other player. it is amazing to me though that whenever 1 player is asked by his team to play safe, the enemy team will call him either coward for staying under tower, or stupid for missing so much farm - even though if that scenario were to happen the other way around, the flamer would have played safe and also the safe player would have flamed him too (ridiculous isn't it?). i would like to explain some things to those who can't actually have a civil discourse: 1- coward- he is not a coward. in fact, he might be even wiser than yourself because if he plays def in this situation, you wouldn't have played safe if you were him right? because of course you called him a coward. i could just imagine the flamer being slaughtered again and again while being a "brave" (and not a coward of course) if he were in the safe player's position. 2- stupid for missing farm - SIMPLE LOGIC; a player would rather lose 100 cs , than die 3 times and while hes dead, lose a 100 cs. please, think before you say anything.

League enables and allows trash talk. Tilting opponents is a tried and true method of winning matches. Just mute chat and you've given yourself the legendary tilt-resistant armor.

I mainly focused on the endgame discussion. Otherwise, your last sentence is so worthy i would have given you Thor's hammer if i could

The "coward" taunt is no more than someone running around going "1v1 me!" to the enemy team while he's playing Darius. Trolls who up every match.

Also, players understand what "play def" means. The problem is that "ego fights" is often more tempting and that's what makes them to not play tactically and defensively when needed to, as they're too busy trying to reclaim their lost ego from being killed last time.

i agree with you. the thing is what i wrote was mainly focused on the player actually playing defensive as he should together with the enemy player's seem-to-be-clever-but-actually-not comments regarding his defensive play style. if a player doesn't play safe when he needs and just rushes in for a 1v1 then fine, go ahead, but the thing that bothers me is that people say random stuff to a player who actually plays safe, thinking they are winning the argument while really just being ridiculous.

That depends on when it's done.

As someone else said, tilting your enemy into either going Rambo or flaming his team is a good strategy to win games and there's no rule against it as long as it's not full on flame, so if say I call your enemy top laner during the laning stage a coward and a fool for losing so much farm and all, it's ment as a "win more" strategy as if he tilts, he either flames his team and causes infighting allowing my team an easier time or he goes Rambo trying to prove he's good, but since he's already behind, he'll feed more.

If it's done after the game, then yea, it's just a bad winner/sore loser and it's dumb.

i will call you a coward if you for example pick Lux who already has a shield and takes summoner 21 . I won't however call you one for playing defensive in a bad/losing lane.
