Plans on a skarner update?

I was just thinking if skarner could potentially become a candidate for an upcoming update. I don't really know the champ and just thought about it when I saw him in the free champ rotation. Just think he looks kinda old and people rarely play him even though it seems there are really interesting ideas in his gameplay. I really love the work riot puts in the champions updates, the way they "revive" the old champs is amazing!
